The days passed in a strange mix of calm and anticipation. Sebastian was constantly busy, splitting his time between following up on the investigation, managing Sterling business, and making sure Arthur kept up with his medical appointments. The recovery process exceeded everyone's expectations. Arthur followed each doctor's order with military precision and regained his strength with remarkable vigor for someone his age.
My pregnancy had reached the twenty-eighth week milestone, officially beginning the seventh month. The baby bump stretched noticeably larger now, and our little one moved with such constant energy that the sudden kicks often startled me. Sometimes it felt like this baby was eager to make an entrance into the world, or perhaps inherited an impatient streak from Sebastian.
