Chapter 20 - CURSED TO LOVE A WITCH

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

THIRD PERSON POV

The headquarters of Zarion Global Enterprises stood tall in the heart of the city—glass walls shining under the morning sun, a symbol of power, wealth, and legacy.

Inside, everything was perfectly arranged.

Today was not just another meeting.

It was a takeover.

In the main boardroom, a long polished table stretched across the room, surrounded by powerful men and women in expensive suits.

Board members.

Investors.

Legal advisors.

All waiting.

At the head of the table sat Tanya's uncle, calm and confident, as if everything was already under his control.

Beside him sat Marah—

Elegant.

Composed.

Smiling.

She looked every bit like the rightful heir.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the uncle began, adjusting his tie, "thank you all for attending this important meeting."

"This company has gone through difficult times after the unfortunate passing of my brother and his wife," he continued, lowering his voice slightly as if pretending to feel sorrow.

"But today, we move forward."

He turned toward Marah.

"It is time for the rightful successor to take her place."

A soft murmur spread across the room.

The legal advisor stood up, holding a file.

"As per the documents and identification provided," he said, "Miss Tanya Moyo is here to officially assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of Zarion Global Enterprises."

Marah stood up slowly.

Her heart was racing—but her face remained calm.

This was it.

Everything she had ever wanted.

She stepped forward.

"Thank you," she said confidently. "I promise to lead this company to greater heights and honor my parents' legacy."

Applause filled the room.

Her uncle smiled proudly.

Everything was going perfectly.

Until—

"Stop."

The single word echoed across the boardroom like thunder.

The applause died instantly.

Everyone turned toward the door.

And then—

She walked in.

Tanya.

The room fell into complete silence.

Her presence alone was enough to shift the air.

She was no longer the broken girl they once knew.

She was powerful.

Elegant.

Dangerous.

Her eyes scanned the room slowly—

Before stopping on Marah.

Shock.

Fear.

Disbelief.

Marah's face turned pale.

"No…" she whispered under her breath.

Tanya took a step forward.

Her heels echoed against the floor.

"You look comfortable in my seat," she said coldly.

The uncle stood up immediately, his face filled with anger.

"Who are you?" he demanded. "Security!"

But no one moved.

Because something about her…

Was terrifying.

Tanya smiled slightly.

A dangerous smile.

"You don't recognize me?" she asked calmly.

Her eyes locked onto his.

"That's strange," she continued. "After everything you did to me."

The room grew tense.

"I am Tanya Moyo," she said clearly.

The words hit the room like a bomb.

"That's impossible!" Marah shouted, stepping back. "She's lying!"

Tanya tilted her head slightly.

"Then why are you afraid?" she asked softly.

Marah froze.

The uncle quickly stepped forward.

"This is nonsense," he said firmly. "She is an impostor. Remove her immediately!"

But Tanya didn't move.

Instead, she walked toward the table.

Calm.

Unshaken.

"Shall we test that?" she said.

She turned to the legal advisor.

"You have the original records, don't you?" she asked.

The man hesitated.

"I…" he stammered.

Before he could respond, another man slowly stood up.

It was the senior lawyer who had worked closely with Tanya's parents for many years.

"There is… one more way," he said carefully.

All eyes turned to him.

He walked forward, holding a small, elegant box made of dark polished wood. It looked ancient yet valuable, with fine carvings along its edges.

"This," he continued, placing the box on the table, "is an heirloom left by the late owners of Zarion Global Enterprises."

The room grew quiet.

"It was meant only for the rightful heir," he added. "Inside this box lies a symbol of authority—something only the true successor can access."

Murmurs spread across the boardroom.

The lawyer pressed a small button, and a faint light appeared on the surface of the box.

"It is protected by a fingerprint lock," he explained. "Only the rightful owner can open it."

Marah's eyes widened slightly.

"There is also a backup password," the lawyer continued, "in case the system fails with time. But that password was only known by the original heir."

The uncle quickly forced a smile.

"Well then," he said confidently, "this will settle everything."

He turned to Marah.

"Go ahead," he said.

Marah swallowed hard but stepped forward.

She placed her finger carefully on the glowing surface.

The room held its breath.

A soft beep sounded.

Then—

Nothing.

The box remained locked.

A faint red light flashed.

"Try again," the uncle said quickly.

Marah tried once more.

Again—

Failure.

Whispers spread louder across the room.

"It must be old," someone muttered.

"Maybe the system is damaged," another added.

Marah quickly spoke, trying to control the situation.

"I… I was still young when my parents died," she said, forcing a nervous laugh. "Maybe I forgot the password…"

Her voice trembled slightly.

The uncle nodded quickly.

"Yes, that must be it," he said. "The device is outdated."

But Tanya…

Was watching.

Silently.

Calmly.

Then she stepped forward.

"May I?" she asked.

No one stopped her.

The room was too tense.

Too curious.

She placed her finger gently on the surface of the box.

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then suddenly—

A clear green light flashed.

Click.

The box unlocked.

A sharp gasp filled the room.

The lid slowly opened.

Inside—

Lay a golden emblem engraved with the official seal of Zarion Global Enterprises.

Proof.

Absolute.

Undeniable.

Silence fell.

Heavy.

Crushing.

Tanya lifted her gaze slowly.

"This company…" she said.

"Belongs to me."

Marah staggered back, her legs weak.

The uncle's face lost all color.

And in that moment—

The truth could no longer be hidden.

The real Tanya…

Had taken back her place.
