CHAPTER TWENTY TWO
DANIEL'S POV
From the moment Tanya stepped into that building, I knew something had changed.
She was no longer just the fierce and dangerous witch I had come to know.
She was something else entirely.
Cold.
Calculated.
Unstoppable.
I followed her from a distance, careful not to be seen. The towering structure of Zarion Global Enterprises stood like a kingdom of glass and power, yet even that could not compare to the presence Tanya carried within her.
When she entered the boardroom, I remained outside, hidden where no one would notice me.
But I could hear everything.
Every word.
Every accusation.
Every lie.
And then—
Her voice.
Calm.
Sharp.
Terrifying.
I had seen Tanya angry before.
I had seen her ruthless.
But this…
This was different.
This was control.
When she revealed her identity, I felt my heart tighten.
The room turned into chaos, but she stood there like a queen reclaiming her throne.
For a moment, I thought she would expose them.
Hand them over to the authorities.
Let justice take its course.
But I was wrong.
Completely wrong.
Instead of calling the police…
She destroyed them in a different way.
She stripped them of everything.
Their power.
Their control.
Their pride.
And then—
She threw them out.
Just like that.
No chains.
No prison.
No punishment.
At least…
That was what it looked like.
I frowned as I watched her walk out of the building, her expression unreadable.
"That's it?" I whispered to myself.
Something didn't feel right.
Tanya was not the type to forgive.
Not after everything she had been through.
Not after the hatred she carried in her heart.
So why let them go so easily?
My instincts told me one thing—
This wasn't the end.
It was only the beginning.
I decided to follow her again.
This time, more carefully.
She didn't return to the company.
Instead, she took a different path—one that led away from the city, into a quieter and more isolated area.
The deeper she went, the more uneasy I felt.
Then she stopped.
I quickly hid behind a tree, watching her from a distance.
For a few seconds, she stood still.
Silent.
Then—
She spoke.
"They are all yours."
My eyes widened.
From the shadows, figures began to appear.
Witches.
Dark.
Silent.
Deadly.
My heart started pounding.
So this was her plan.
She never intended to let them go.
She wanted something far worse.
"I want them alive," Tanya continued, her voice cold as ice. "Not dead."
The witches nodded.
"What do you plan to do with them, Princess?" one of them asked.
Tanya slowly turned, her eyes glowing with something I had never seen before.
Hatred.
Pure hatred.
"Prison is mercy," she said.
"And they don't deserve mercy."
A chill ran down my spine.
I felt my breath catch in my throat as I listened.
"I will break them," she continued softly. "Slowly. Painfully."
Her voice dropped even lower.
"Until they beg for death."
I clenched my fists.
This…
This was the Tanya I feared.
The Tanya who lived for revenge.
The Tanya who could destroy everything in her path.
But then—
She said something that froze me completely.
"After that…" she continued, "we prepare for the kingdom."
My heart stopped.
Kingdom?
My kingdom?
"The king and his council will fall next," she said.
"Their time has come."
I felt the ground beneath me disappear.
So it was true.
Everything.
Her hatred for humans.
Her desire for revenge.
She was coming for us.
For my people.
For my home.
I took a step back, my mind spinning.
What was I supposed to do?
Warn my kingdom?
Stop her?
Or…
Protect her?
I closed my eyes tightly, struggling with the storm inside me.
This was no longer a simple mission.
This was war.
And I was standing in the middle of it—
Not knowing which side I truly belonged to.
