Chapter 3 - Chapter194:Outside My Door

Jay-Jay's POV

After I came to my room I didn't know how long I sat on the floor after locking my door.

My back was pressed against it, my knees pulled tightly to my chest. My head felt heavy, and my throat still burned from all the shouting earlier.

Downstairs, the house was still loud.

Voices arguing.

People crying.

Footsteps moving around.

It felt like the whole house was falling apart.

Then—

Knock. Knock.

I didn't answer.

A moment later, the door slowly opened.

Yuri stepped inside quietly. He was holding a plate of food and a glass of water.

I wiped my face quickly, annoyed that he saw me crying.

He walked over and placed the plate on my desk.

"You should eat," he said softly.

"I'm not hungry."

"You haven't eaten anything since earlier."

"I said I'm not hungry!" I snapped.

The words came out sharper than I meant, but I didn't care.

Yuri stopped talking.

Downstairs, my mom's voice suddenly echoed through the house again.

"I'm so sorry, Jay-Jay!" she cried loudly. "I'm so sorry!"

Her voice sounded completely broken.

Grandma was crying too. Tita Gema kept trying to calm everyone down.

"Please… everyone calm down."

But Aries' voice rose again.

"This shouldn't have happened!"

Then another voice joined.

Kiefer.

Unlike everyone else, his voice sounded calm.

"Why is everyone acting like something terrible happened?" he said.

Someone snapped back, "Didn't you see what just happened?"

Kiefer gave a small scoff.

"She asked a question. She got the truth."

Aries sounded furious. "You think that's nothing?"

"I'm saying people are overreacting," Kiefer replied casually.

My chest tightened.

Behind me, Yuri shifted slightly.

"You shouldn't listen to them right now," he said gently.

That made something inside me snap.

I stood up quickly.

"Why are you even here?" I snapped.

Yuri looked surprised. "To check on you."

"I didn't ask you to!"

The anger in my chest felt like it was exploding.

"Everyone keeps coming in here like I'm some kind of problem!"

"That's not what I'm doing—"

"Then what are you doing?!" I shouted.

The room fell silent.

For a second, Yuri didn't say anything.

Then he lowered his head slightly.

"I'm sorry."

His voice was quiet.

I blinked, confused.

"I shouldn't have come in without asking," he said.

"I just thought… maybe you shouldn't be alone right now."

I didn't respond.

Yuri glanced at the plate on the desk.

"You still don't have to eat it," he said softly.

Then he looked back at me.

"I'm sorry, Jay-Jay."

There was no argument in his voice.

No defending himself.

Just a quiet apology.

After that, he turned and walked to the door.

He paused for a second before leaving.

"If you change your mind… the food's there."

Then he stepped out and gently closed the door behind him.

The room became quiet again.

But downstairs, the chaos continued.

My mom was still crying.

Aries was still arguing.

And Kiefer's voice still sounded calm in the middle of it all.

I looked at the plate on the desk.

Then I sat back down on the floor.

Still angry.

Still hurting.

Still trying to understand everything.
