The woman didn't argue but stepped even closer to him her guards following behind her.
Atheline frowned at their approach. They clearly didn't care about the arrow pointed at them.
The chain around his neck grew warm but not too much.
Her hand went into her pocket, and she pulled out a small, green, luminous stone.
Athelines felt his vision flicker.
She extended her open palm towards him. The stone then started to glow brighter in between them.
Then he felt it. The Aether in the air flowed into the stone as it was activated. Around them the wind picked up and the trees swayed even more.
Ominous.
The light from the stone twisted within itself, and then an image was formed at its place. Atheline stumbled back just a few steps.
A memory projection.
Atheline's breath caught.
'It's her, not it can't be'
Sitting lazily atop a throne surrounded by skulls and gems was she. She had a small crown on her head and was supporting her head with her right hand.
