"Why does this route look different from the one we came on?"
I asked softly, trying to sound casual. If I played extra dumb and stayed completely silent, he would instantly know something was off.
"I forgot to mention it before. Mr Volkov ordered me to take you to his private villa."
He had a good excuse, I had to give him that.
I slipped my phone out of its cover and held the cover in my right hand, pretending to use the phone. Then I casually took off the cover before throwing the actual phone out the window when he wasn't looking.
"Daniel did? I didn't get any calls... Ugh! There's no network here."
I replied, pretending to look frustrated as I stared at the empty phone cover in my hand.
"We're here, Mrs Volkov."
I heard his voice as he stopped the car in the middle of the forest. It looked like he planned to knock me unconscious here before doing anything else.
"Here? But there's nothing around us?"
