Chapter 17 - Flashback — The Fall of Asmodeus (Memory Fragment)

The sky of Hell burned crimson.

Fire and magic clashed violently across the battlefield.

Demon armies fought against the forces led by Amon.

At the front lines—

Two figures stood side by side.

Eisteth.And Asmodeus.

Asmodeus's pink hair was blown by the scorching wind of war.

He smiled faintly, even as blood slowly dripped from a wound on his arm.

"So… we've really reached this point," he said quietly.

Eisteth did not answer.

Her eyes remained fixed on the enemy army before them.

But her hand trembled slightly.

"Amon won't stop," Eisteth said.

"If we retreat now, Hell will fall."

Asmodeus let out a small laugh.

"I know."

He stepped a little closer to her.

"That's why I'm here."

Suddenly—

A massive explosion shook the battlefield.

Amon's army advanced like a black tide.

Eisteth raised her sword.

"Asmodeus—"

But before she could finish—

Amon appeared high above them in the sky.

The power of sin surrounded his body.

His eyes burned with hatred.

"How amusing," he said coldly.

"Two great sins pretending to be heroes."

Crimson energy gathered in his hand.

Eisteth immediately realized what was about to happen.

"ASMODEUS—!"

But it was too late.

A beam of red energy struck the ground.

The explosion destroyed everything around them.

When the dust slowly faded—

Eisteth saw something that made the world stop.

Asmodeus stood in front of her.

But his body had been pierced by Amon's attack.

Blood slowly fell to the ground.

Eisteth froze.

"…Why?"

Her voice was barely audible.

Asmodeus gave a weak smile.

He lifted his hand and gently touched Eisteth's face.

"Because I knew you wouldn't dodge."

The light in his eyes slowly began to fade.

"I'd rather… be the one who gets hurt."

Tears fell from Eisteth's eyes.

"…Don't joke."

Her voice trembled.

"Get up."

But Asmodeus's body slowly weakened.

He whispered softly.

"Eisteth…"

"If one day you forget me…"

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"…maybe that would be better."

His hand fell.

His body collapsed onto the battlefield.

Silence.

For a few seconds—

Nothing moved.

Then—

Something inside Eisteth shattered.

Demonic energy erupted from her body.

The angel ring floating above her head cracked.

Her demon horns darkened.

Her eyes turned wild.

The scream that tore from her throat shook the entire battlefield.

That day—

The Princess of Hell lost her sanity.

And the war turned into a massacre.

Human World — Hospital

The pink-haired man suddenly woke up.

His breathing was heavy.

His chest ached.

"…What was that?"

Tears fell from his eyes without him realizing it.

Even though he didn't understand why.

He looked at the woman lying in the hospital bed.

"…Why does it feel like I lost you once again?"

Hell — Palace 666

Inside the palace—

Lucifer stood alone in the ancient archive chamber.

In front of him floated an old contract scroll sealed with magic.

It was the marriage contract between Lucifer and Eisteth.

A political marriage.

Not one built on love.

Lucifer reread the contents with a calm expression.

But his eyes slowly narrowed.

Something was wrong.

Several parts of the historical record were incomplete.

As if they had been deliberately erased.

Lucifer remembered something.

Back then—

Several noble factions had strongly pressured him to accept the marriage.

They claimed it was necessary to maintain balance in Hell.

But now—

The soul resonance he had been feeling made him question everything.

"…Was I manipulated?"

One name appeared in his mind.

Amon.

Lucifer slowly clenched his hand.

If that was true—

Then the war in the past might not have been an accident.

It might have been something planned from the beginning.

Hell — Lower City

In a dark underground chamber—

Amon stood before a massive magic circle.

Dozens of Purifiers knelt before him.

A crimson crystal floated in the air.

The energy of sin pulsed within it.

Amon smiled slowly.

"The time is almost here."

He raised his hand.

The magic circle began to glow.

A portal leading to the human world slowly opened.

"Go."

"Find the vessel."

The Purifiers answered in unison.

"Yes, Lord Amon."

One by one they stepped into the portal.

Amon gazed at the crimson crystal with absolute certainty.

"Just like thousands of years ago…"

"…war will be born from the same sin."

System — Memory Archive

Meanwhile—

Eisteth's System began unlocking another sealed archive.

Locked data slowly appeared.

[SEALED MEMORY RESTORATION — 12%]

Fragments of information surfaced.

About a political marriage.

About the conflict between two great powers of Hell.

About the relationship between Lucifer and Eisteth.

In the past—

They were never a harmonious couple.

They were like—

fire and water.

Always clashing.

Always arguing.

But now—

The System recorded something different.

The current Lucifer was showing emotions that had never been recorded before.

A new possibility.

A feeling that had never existed in the past.

A feeling directed toward the current Eisteth.
