Chapter 16 - A Resonance That Cannot Be Hidden

Inside Eisteth's System network, data continued to move.

Lines of code that had been sealed for a very long time slowly began to unlock.

But most of them were still damaged.

The transparent screen flickered.

[SEALED MEMORY RESTORATION — 9%]

[WARNING — MEMORY LOCK REMAINING]

Inside Eisteth's consciousness, fragments of images appeared again.

Human World — The Past

The evening sky glowed orange.

A small park in the middle of the city looked peaceful.

On a park bench—

Eisteth sat while reading a manga.

Her expression was relaxed.

Too relaxed.

Next to her—

A man with soft pink hair stared at her in disbelief.

"You seriously brought manga to a date?"

Eisteth didn't even lift her head.

"This is the newest chapter."

The pink-haired man sighed.

"Cecil…"

Finally, she closed the book.

"What?"

The man looked at her quietly.

As if he was trying to confirm something.

Then he smiled faintly.

"…Nothing."

He gently messed up her hair.

"I just wanted to make sure you're really here."

Eisteth lightly slapped his hand away.

"Don't ruin my hair."

But her cheeks turned slightly red.

That day was simple.

No battles.

No demons.

No great destiny.

Just two people walking home together as the sun slowly set.

Hell — Lower City

Meanwhile—

Inside an underground chamber filled with ancient symbols.

The followers of Amon gathered again.

In the center of the room—

A red crystal pulsed like a living heart.

One of the Purifiers knelt.

"Lord Amon."

"The soul resonance is increasing."

Amon sat calmly on a stone throne.

His eyes half-closed.

"Where?"

"Two locations."

"The human world… and Palace 666."

A slow smile appeared on Amon's face.

"Interesting."

He stood up.

Dark energy flowed around him.

"So they've begun calling each other again."

He looked at the red crystal in his hand.

"Find the pink-haired man."

One of the followers asked hesitantly.

"Is he truly… Asmodeus?"

Amon laughed quietly.

"Of course not yet."

"But he is the perfect vessel."

His eyes glowed coldly.

"Sin never truly disappears."

Palace 666

Inside the high meeting chamber—

Demon nobles were discussing strange phenomena spreading through Hell.

Unstable energy.

Soul resonance.

And movements from Amon's followers.

But Lucifer wasn't truly listening.

His thoughts were elsewhere.

The resonance returned.

Stronger than before.

Lucifer closed his eyes briefly.

A memory surfaced.

Pink hair.

A relaxed smile.

Someone who once stood beside him.

Lucifer slowly opened his eyes.

"…Impossible."

He stood from his seat.

The entire room immediately fell silent.

Lucifer rarely showed any sign of disturbance.

But he didn't explain anything.

He simply said quietly—

"The meeting is over."

Then he walked out of the chamber.

Human World — Hospital

The room lights were dim.

The monitor beeped softly.

The pink-haired man was still sitting beside the hospital bed.

He had been there for days.

Yet he never left.

He looked at the woman lying unconscious.

In this world—

Her name was Cecilia.

But deep in his heart—

Another name kept appearing.

Eisteth.

The man gently held her hand.

"…I don't know why."

He smiled faintly.

"But it feels like I've known you for a very long time."

Suddenly—

Her finger moved slightly.

The man froze.

The monitor beeped faster.

He stared at her face in shock.

"…Cecilia?"

But her eyes did not open.

Not yet.

However deep inside her consciousness—

The name Eisteth pulsed once again.

Hell

Inside Eisteth's System—

A new message appeared.

[SOUL RESONANCE INCREASING]

[LINK TARGET DETECTED]

But the data was corrupted.

The system couldn't display the target name.

Only one symbol appeared.

An ancient sin emblem.

A symbol well known in Hell.

The mark belonging to—

Asmodeus.

And without anyone realizing it—

A fate buried for thousands of years…

was slowly beginning to awaken again.
