Chapter 11 - Secrets In The Night

Walinsiya licked the blood from her finger with a satisfied expression.

"I was drinking blood."

Jinha frowned immediately.

"…Whose blood?"

"My own," Walinsiya replied calmly.

Jinha sighed deeply.

"What kind of crazy devil have I allowed to stay in my house…"

Walinsiya leaned against the wall lazily.

"What can I do? I'm a devil. I need blood to survive."

"In my world, blood is easily available in shops."

"But in your world, there's nothing like that."

Jinha crossed her arms.

"Of course there isn't."

"Our world doesn't sell disgusting things like blood."

"And even if you couldn't find blood, that doesn't mean you should drink your own."

Walinsiya smirked.

"If I want to stay alive, I have to do it."

Then she slowly licked her lips.

"But that boy's blood looked very delicious…"

"Maybe I should try it once."

Jinha's eyes instantly turned sharp.

"What did you say?"

"Listen carefully, you little bat."

"Stay right here and don't even think about scaring him again."

"Otherwise things will get very bad."

Walinsiya chuckled softly.

"Don't underestimate me."

"If I wanted to, I could destroy you with just a snap of my fingers."

Jinha smiled confidently.

"I know you won't."

"Because you came here for a purpose."

"And until that purpose is fulfilled, you can't kill me."

Walinsiya narrowed her eyes.

"You're quite clever."

"I've been like this since childhood," Jinha replied proudly.

"Alright."

"You stay inside this room until I say you can come out."

"If you listen to me…"

She smirked slightly.

"I'll give you a glass of blood wine."

Walinsiya's eyes sparkled.

"Really?"

"Fine. I won't leave the room."

"I'll just sit quietly in the corner."

Jinha nodded.

"Good."

"I'm going downstairs."

"Jeigan?"

"Jeigan, where are you?"

Jinha walked through the living room looking around.

Then she saw him sitting on the couch with a book in his hand.

"What are you doing?"

Jeigan looked up with a bright smile.

"Oh, Jinha."

"I was reading this book."

"It's really interesting."

Jinha glanced at the cover.

"The Innocent Devil of Immortality."

She chuckled softly.

"Yes, that book is interesting."

"But the powers written in it… the deal abilities… they're completely unimaginable."

"None of those powers actually exist."

"It's just a fantasy book."

"You can keep it if you want."

Jeigan nodded.

"Alright."

"I'll return it after reading."

"There's no need," Jinha said.

"You can keep it."

"Thank you," Jeigan replied.

Jinha smiled.

"Now come."

"Dinner is ready."

Jeigan stood up.

"Okay."

Jinha pulled out a chair beside him.

"Sit here."

Jeigan blinked.

"…Beside you?"

"Yes."

"Is that a problem?"

"No… not really," he said awkwardly.

"Then let's start eating."

Jeigan took a bite.

His eyes widened instantly.

"Wow…"

"This is really delicious."

Jinha smiled proudly.

"I'm glad you liked it."

"If you want, I can cook food for you every day and bring it to school."

Jeigan looked embarrassed.

"I appreciate that… but that would be a lot of work for you."

Jinha shook her head.

"It's not work."

"I have the Deal of Imaginative."

"With that deal, if I see something once and imagine the process, I can recreate it instantly."

"Isn't that amazing?"

Jeigan stared at her in awe.

"I've only read about deals like that in books."

"But today I actually saw someone using them."

He smiled warmly.

"Alright."

"If you cook for me, I won't refuse."

"But if you ever need help with anything, you can ask me."

"Okay," Jinha replied.

After finishing dinner, Jeigan stood up.

"Thank you for the meal."

"I should go now."

Jinha nodded.

"Alright."

"But visit my house again sometime."

"I will."

"See you tomorrow at university."

Jinha smiled.

"And tomorrow I'll tell you about devils."

Jeigan's eyes lit up.

"I'm excited to hear about that."

"Bye."

"Bye, Jeigan."

Jeigan stepped outside.

"I'll have to activate my technique… otherwise it'll take too long to reach home."

He took a deep breath.

"Deal of Horse Power."

"Deal accepted!"

In the next moment, Jeigan shot forward like a bullet, running through the streets at incredible speed.

Wind rushed past him as he dashed through the dark roads.

After several minutes, he finally stopped.

"Deal Disable."

"Deal disabled."

He bent over slightly, breathing heavily.

"I'm exhausted…"

"I activated my deal twice today… both at full power."

Jeigan rang the doorbell.

"I'm home."

The door opened.

His mother, Sumie, looked at him suspiciously.

"Why are you so late today?"

Before Jeigan could answer, his father Rudan spoke calmly.

"Sumie, let him come inside first."

"Ask questions after he freshens up."

"Come in, son."

Jeigan nodded.

"Yes, dad."

Rudan looked at him carefully.

"You look very tired."

Jeigan sighed.

"Yeah."

"Because today I activated my technique twice."

"I'll explain everything after I take a shower."

Rudan and Sumie stared at each other in shock.

"Sumie…" Rudan whispered.

"Did you hear what I heard?"

Sumie's eyes filled with tears.

"Yes… I did."

"I can't believe it…"

"Our son activated his technique twice in a single day."

Rudan nodded emotionally.

"He usually can't activate it even once…"

"And today he did it twice."

Sumie wiped her tears.

"One day our son will definitely make us proud."

Jeigan looked at them suspiciously.

"Are you praising me… or making fun of me?"

Rudan laughed awkwardly.

"No, son. We're praising you."

Sumie crossed her arms.

"Now tell me."

"Why were you so late?"

"Where were you all this time?"

Jeigan froze.

Inside his mind, panic began to rise.

I can't tell Mom and Dad that I was at Jinha's house…

Otherwise they'll start imagining all kinds of things…
