The drive back to the mansion was silent.
Inside the car sat Aryan Malhotra, his shoulder slightly injured but his face calm as always.
Beside him, Anaya Sen kept glancing at him.
In the back seat sat her mother, still shaken from the kidnapping.
After a few minutes, Anaya finally spoke.
"Why did Viktor say there are more powerful people behind him?"
Aryan didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he looked out of the window at the dark highway.
Then he said quietly,
"Because it's true."
Anaya frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Aryan's voice became serious.
"Viktor is not the real enemy."
Those words shocked her.
"What?!"
Aryan continued calmly.
"He works for a secret international organization."
"An organization that controls illegal weapons, black money, and underground networks across several countries."
Anaya felt uneasy.
"What organization?"
Aryan finally said the name.
"The Black Serpent Syndicate."
The name itself sounded dangerous.
Anaya's mother spoke softly from the back seat.
"I've heard that name before…"
Both Aryan and Anaya looked at her.
"You have?" Anaya asked.
Her mother nodded slowly.
"Your father once mentioned it."
The car suddenly felt colder.
"Dad knew about them?" Anaya asked.
Her mother continued.
"Your father discovered something very important about their network."
Aryan's eyes narrowed.
"That must be the data Viktor is looking for."
Anaya felt confused.
"But I don't have anything!"
Aryan turned toward her.
"You might not know it yet."
"But your father trusted you."
"Which means he must have hidden the key somewhere connected to you."
Silence filled the car.
Anaya tried to remember everything about her father.
Then suddenly—
A memory flashed in her mind.
Her eyes widened.
"Wait…"
Aryan looked at her.
"What is it?"
Anaya whispered slowly,
"Before my father disappeared… he gave me a pendant."
She touched the necklace she had worn since childhood.
"I always thought it was just a gift."
Aryan's gaze became sharp.
"Show me."
Anaya removed the pendant.
It looked like a simple silver locket.
But Aryan examined it carefully.
Then he noticed something strange.
A tiny hidden lock on the back.
His voice became serious.
"This is not just jewelry."
Anaya's heart started beating faster.
"What is it?"
Aryan looked directly at her.
"This might be the key your father left behind."
At that exact moment—
His phone rang again.
One of his men spoke urgently.
"Boss… we have a problem."
Aryan's voice became cold.
"What happened?"
The guard replied quickly.
"Viktor has contacted the Black Serpent Syndicate."
The situation just became much more dangerous.
Because now…
The war was no longer just between Aryan and Viktor.
It was against an entire criminal empire.
