Chapter 66 - Chapter 42: The Fall of Spirit

Whoosh!

In a blink, Kael teleported directly into Spirit's personal space. His left eye had changed—the pupil, now a vivid, unnatural purple, was rotating like a hypnotic wheel.

Spirit recoiled in sheer disbelief, his instincts screaming as he scrambled backward to put some distance between them.

When Kael spoke, his voice didn't sound like his own anymore. It sounded like a choir of broken souls, distorted and hollow. "Now the game has truly begun. Or perhaps... I'm already taking the lead."

Kael tensed his muscles, throwing his arms wide as a dark aura surged around him. "Demonic Hands."

Without a moment's pause, he sprinted forward, a blur of lethal intent. As the distance closed, he hissed two words: "Infinity Broken."

Spirit's eyes widened in shock. "How did you know that I have the power of infinity?!"

Kael didn't answer. He just smirked, slamming his palm directly into Spirit's belly. Channeling every ounce of his force, Kael unleashed a kinetic burst that sent Spirit flying through the air.

But as Spirit crashed backward, he realized something was terribly wrong. This wasn't normal damage.

Before he could recover, Kael closed the gap again, delivering a follow-up strike. But the moment the blow landed, a shockwave of agony rippled through both of them.

Kael screamed out in pure pain, stumbling back, while Spirit was sent skidding across the dirt. Both fighters collapsed to their knees, chests heaving as they gasped for air.

"Y… you… lucky… bastard," Spirit wheezed, completely out of breath, staring at his opponent with a mixture of dread and awe. "You actually have… the power of infinity breaking."

Kael clutched his side, spitting a bit of blood. "Wh… who's the lucky bastard? That… has yet… to be decided."

Hearing that, a grim smile tugged at the corner of Spirit's mouth. He forced himself back onto his feet and bolted toward Kael, a mad glint in his eyes. ..."Infinity Sword!" he roared, a blade of pure, boundless energy manifesting in his grip.

Kael didn't flinch. He just looked up, his face contorting into a deadly, chilling smile. "Death Scythe."

From the sidelines, Vajr's voice cut through the chaos, raw with panic: "Spirit, get away from him! Run! He's going to kill you! "

Kael's eyes locked onto Spirit. Sensing the trap, Spirit used Kael's positioning to his advantage—he leaped high into the air, vaulting clean over Kael's head to execute a blind-side strike from behind.

An explosion of blood sprayed across the battlefield.

But it wasn't Kael's blood.

Spirit stumbled back, staring at his own mangled weapon and the sudden wound tearing through his chest. He cried out in pure bewilderment, "Whaaaat? shreds?!"

Slowly, Kael's head snapped around a full 180 degrees to look at him, his body remaining completely still. The sight was horrific. "You really thought I would forget your technique?" he asked, his voice dripping with malice.

Kael casually dropped into a squat right in front of the staggered warrior. Resting his elbows on his knees, he gave a dark, mocking chuckle. "I don't just break your infinity, Spirit. I can create it, too. Just. Like. You."

Writhing in agony on the ground, Spirit clutched his bleeding torso. Desperation and rage took over. With a primal scream, he lunged forward one last time, throwing his remaining hand out in a final, suicidal attack.

Kael's smirk widened.

With an effortless flick of his wrist, the shadowy blade of the Death Scythe flashed through the air.

A clean arc. A sudden silence. And Spirit's head fell away from his shoulders before his body even hit the dirt.

Yet, by some dark magic or final spark of life, the severed head of Spirit blinked up from the ground. His lips moved, straining to throw out one last question. "Kael… can you tell me… your surname?"

Kael looked down at the dying head, the terrifying malice fading for a split second, replaced by a bitter, hollow smile.

"Redgrave," Kael whispered.

Spirit closed his eyes, a serene look of acceptance washing over his pale features. "Oh… Redgrave. So the lines of destiny were real after all… That is why I am dead."

With those final words, the last breath left his lips, and a heavy, suffocating silence sank into the endless expanse of the infinity room.

The silence didn't last.

"Why did you kill him?!" Vajr cried out from the sidelines, his voice cracking with shock and horror.

Kael slowly stood up, but the battle wasn't over in his mind. The dark aura didn't fade; instead, it began to bleed out of his pores like a raging storm. He whipped his gaze toward Vajr, his eyes widening with a terrifying, unhinged intensity.

"Why did you kidnap my parents?!" Kael roared, the sound tearing from his throat.

In the dim light of the infinity room, Kael's face looked monstrous. One eye pitch black, the other a blazing, sinister purple—together, they were far more terrifying than the darkest abyss.

Kael took a step forward, completely losing control, his voice escalating into a frantic, deafening scream. "Explain it! Explain it right now!!"

Vajr shrank back, completely paralyzed. He had expected Kael to calm down after winning the fight, but he hadn't predicted this. The boy hadn't just won—he had become something infinitely more aggressive, and infinitely more dangerous.
