Chapter 28 - [28] : The Overly Familiar Hana Yurikawa!

Thank you all so much for your support!!

Thinking back to the feeling of Kai holding her ankle last night, Sakiko Togawa couldn't help but avert her gaze, but she still agreed.

After eating, Sakiko watched the man in front of her with a deeply flushed face. At this moment, Kai was carefully applying ointment to her sprained ankle.

"All done."

After finishing the task, Kai looked up, immediately catching Sakiko's evasive, darting gaze.

"What's wrong?"

"You... um..."

Sakiko hesitantly pointed a finger, then, realizing exactly what she was pointing at, frantically looked away.

"?"

Originally confused, Kai looked down and instantly understood what had Sakiko acting so flustered.

He was a young guy, after all, and it was morning. His testosterone was running high, and "Little Kai" had pitched a tent at some unknown point, standing right at attention.

"Ahem! Don't get the wrong idea, this is just a completely normal biological reaction."

"I-It's fine."

In reality, not only did Sakiko not feel disgusted, but a distinct sense of smug pride actually swelled up inside her. Didn't this prove that Kai was genuinely attracted to her?

"Ahem, anyway, I have some things I need to take care of, so I'm going to head out. Get some rest. If you need to step out for anything, just pull the door shut behind you—I have my keys on me."

Kai hadn't forgotten.

He still had a date with Miko Yotsuya today. Saying that, he quickly gathered his things and prepared to leave.

"Be careful on your way."

Instead of asking where he was going, Sakiko saw him off just like a newlywed wife sending her husband out the door.

"You don't need to get up, just rest!"

Seeing Sakiko trying to stand, Kai waved his hand and headed straight out the door.

Soon.

She was the only one left in the apartment.

"What is actually wrong with me?"

With no one else around to worry about, Sakiko laid back on the sofa, the image of "Little Kai" standing at attention constantly flashing through her mind.

"I shouldn't..."

She really shouldn't be feeling this way. So why couldn't she stop feeling so incredibly smug about it?

————————————————————

"Miko!"

On Kai's end, he quickly met up with Miko Yotsuya.

However.

What Kai absolutely hadn't expected was that Miko hadn't come alone. She brought along someone with an absurdly exaggerated figure.

"I'm so sorry, this is Hana Yurikawa."

Catching Kai's stare, Miko introduced her with a highly apologetic look.

"Hana is my best friend. When she heard I was going out today, she absolutely insisted on tagging along."

Hana Yurikawa was a childhood friend of Miko's. She had bright orange hair and seemed to wear a permanent, sunny smile on her face. But of course, the absolute most eye-catching thing about her was always her ridiculously well-endowed figure.

In Kai's memory, even his Senpai probably couldn't hold a candle to her in that specific department.

"You're so mean, Miko. We literally grew up together, and you didn't even bother telling me you got a boyfriend."

"..."

'If I had known this would happen, I never would have told her in the first place.'

However, Hana didn't seem to mind in the slightest. After teasing her friend, she turned her bright, cheerful gaze straight onto Kai.

"Hi there! I'm Hana Yurikawa. You can just call me Hana, exactly like Miko does."

"..."

She really was incredibly overly familiar.

A normal high school guy would probably be blushing and stammering right now, but a display like this wasn't nearly enough to intimidate Kai.

"Nice to meet you, Hana. I'm Kai,"

"Nice to meet you, too," As she spoke. Hana casually reached out and linked her arm through his, acting as if they were already the best of friends.

"Hana!" Seeing this, Miko frantically pulled her friend back.

"You can't just be so rude!"

Even though she knew perfectly well that Hana was hopelessly dense and lacked personal boundaries, Miko still couldn't help but feel a massive pang of jealousy. This was her boyfriend, after all.

"It's totally fine! Isn't Kai-kun your boyfriend, Miko?"

"..."

'You literally just said he's MY boyfriend, not yours!'

"Ahem!"

Ultimately, Kai cleared his throat, interrupting the banter between the two girls.

"It's getting kind of late. Why don't we go find a café and sit down for a bit?"

"Sounds great! Let's go!"

Hana was the first to enthusiastically agree.

"I actually know this one place that has absolutely amazing desserts! I'll lead the way."

Hana was the exact type of person who would literally start starving if she went more than a few hours without eating, so she was a total expert when it came to local food spots.

Grabbing Kai with one hand and Miko with the other, she enthusiastically dragged them down the street.

"Hana!"

Miko looked completely drained, lacking the energy to even complain.

This was absolutely nothing like the romantic date she had imagined. If she had known this would happen, she would have waited until the date was completely over before breathing a word of it to Hana.

"It's totally fine. A friend of yours is a friend of mine. Besides, Hana has a really great personality."

'Yeah, and it isn't just her personality that's great—her figure is top-tier too. The feeling of her pressing against my arm just now... I definitely wouldn't mind experiencing that again.'

"Right?? See!"

Hearing Kai compliment her, Hana instantly beamed, shooting Miko an incredibly smug look.

"You..."

Whatever. Letting go of her frustration, Miko couldn't help but laugh along with them.

At the end of the day, Hana was her absolute best friend. Seeing her boyfriend get along so well with her friends was exactly what Miko had hoped for anyway.

————————————————————

Following a nearly identical itinerary to yesterday, they headed straight to the movie theater after eating.

In fact, it was the exact same theater.

It was just a shame that yesterday's specific... 'circumstances' didn't repeat themselves. Plus, Hana Yurikawa and Utaha Kasumigaoka were completely different types of girls entirely.

Using the exact same probing tactics on Hana was completely useless. This girl was simply way too dense and innocent for any of it to register.

"Wow, it got so late without us even noticing!"

Miko usually didn't like going out much, so it was incredibly rare for Hana to get to hang out and have this much fun.

Noticing the sky growing dark.

Hana complained in a distressed tone—she clearly wanted to keep playing.

"Why don't we go grab something to eat before heading home?"

"Didn't we literally just eat?"

Miko looked completely burnt out.

She naturally lacked physical stamina on a normal day. After running around the city for the entire afternoon, Miko felt like her legs were going to fall off. She genuinely couldn't comprehend how Hana still had the energy to think about food.

"What we just ate were desserts."

"And your point is?"

"So now it's time to go eat an actual meal!"

"..."

Even though she ate like a literal black hole, Hana never gained a single pound. On the flip side, Miko had to actively watch her portions just to maintain her figure.
