The Temple of Eclipse
The ancient gate opened with a deep rumble.
A cold silver light poured out from inside the mountain, forming a glowing path beneath Arian and Luna's feet.
The others stood in silence.
Even Lyra, usually fearless, looked uneasy.
"This place feels alive," she whispered.
The old wizard nodded slowly.
"It is."
Arian looked at Luna.
"Ready?"
She took a deep breath and gave a small nod.
Together, they stepped into the Temple of Eclipse.
Inside, the temple was breathtaking.
Massive crystal pillars stretched toward a ceiling hidden in darkness. Silver flames floated in the air without any source, casting soft moonlight across ancient stone walls.
Symbols glowed everywhere.
Stars.
Moons.
And one symbol that made Arian stop.
The Moon Heart mark.
It was carved into the floor in the exact shape glowing on his chest.
Luna looked at it too.
"This place knows you."
Before Arian could respond, the temple doors behind them slammed shut.
Boom!
Lyra quickly turned.
"We're locked in."
The old wizard's face grew tense.
"That means the trial has begun."
Suddenly, the floor beneath Arian and Luna started glowing.
A circle of blue and silver light surrounded them.
A voice echoed through the temple.
Ancient. Calm. Powerful.
"Chosen of the Moon… step forward."
From the shadows ahead, a figure slowly appeared.
A woman dressed in flowing silver robes, her long hair glowing like moonlight.
Her eyes were the same color as Luna's.
Luna gasped.
"No…"
The figure looked at her softly.
"Luna."
Arian looked between them.
"Who is she?"
Luna's voice trembled.
"She's… my mother."
The former Moon Queen.
Arian froze.
"But she died…"
The queen's spirit smiled sadly.
"My body did."
"But my soul remains bound to the temple."
Luna's eyes filled with tears.
"Mother…"
The queen stepped closer.
"There isn't much time."
She looked at Arian.
"The Moon Heart chose you because your soul is linked to the prophecy."
Arian frowned.
"What prophecy?"
The queen's expression darkened.
"The prophecy does not end with defeating the Dark Prince."
She turned to Luna.
"It ends with a choice."
Luna's face went pale.
"What choice?"
The queen looked at both of them.
"To save both worlds…"
"One of you must sacrifice everything."
The temple went silent.
Arian stared at her.
"What do you mean by everything?"
The queen's voice was barely above a whisper.
"Love."
The word hit them like a blade.
Luna stepped back.
"No…"
The queen's spirit continued.
"The Moon Heart and the Moon Princess's power can only seal the darkness if the bond between you is broken."
Arian's chest tightened.
"You're saying… we can't stay together?"
The queen's eyes filled with sorrow.
"If you choose each other…"
"The two worlds may fall."
Luna looked at Arian, tears already forming.
For the first time—
Their love itself had become the greatest danger.
And somewhere far away…
The Dark Prince smiled, as if he already knew.
