The impact shattered the earth, sending rocks and dust flying across the crater.
Grik barely rolled out of the way.
"MOVE!"
Ruun leaped onto a nearby rock formation, his eyes wide.
"That thing almost flattened us!"
The Abyss Horn Behemoth slowly lifted its claw.
The crater floor had been crushed into a deep pit from the single strike.
Grik stared at it in horror.
"That was just one attack…"
Rai stood calmly in the middle of the battlefield.
His ice-blue eyes studied the monster.
Every movement.
Every breath.

"So the core is under the chest."
Grik looked at him like he was insane.
"You're analyzing it?!"
The Behemoth suddenly roared again.

The sound wave blasted across the battlefield.
Ruun covered his ears.
"Damn it!"
The monster lowered its massive horns.
Then charged.
The ground shook violently.
Grik shouted.
"IT'S COMING!"
The Behemoth moved like a living mountain.
Rai activated Shadow Step.
FLASH!
His body disappeared just before the horns slammed into the ground.
BOOOOOOM!
The crater cracked open again from the impact.
Rai reappeared beside the monster's massive leg.
Then struck.
CRACK!
His fist hit the stone armor.
But the Behemoth barely reacted.
Grik stared in disbelief.
"You didn't even scratch it!"
The monster swung its tail.
WHOOOOOSH!
Rai jumped back just in time as the tail smashed the ground.
Dust exploded into the air.
Ruun shouted from above.
"The armor is too thick!"
Rai already knew that.
The monster's defense was incredible.
Even B-Rank demons struggled to damage it.
But Rai had something they didn't.
He couldn't die.
The Behemoth lifted both claws.
Then slammed them into the ground.
BOOOOM!
Earthquake Strike.
The entire crater shook violently.
Massive cracks spread across the ground.
Grik lost his balance.
"I HATE THIS MONSTER!"
Ruun jumped from rock to rock to avoid falling into the cracks.
Rai stood firm.
His body adapted to the monster's movements.
Combat Adaptation was learning.
Every attack.
Every pattern.
Then Rai saw it.
A moment.
A small opening beneath the Behemoth's chest when it raised its claws.
The core was there.
Protected by layers of armor.
But not completely.
Rai smiled slightly.
"Found it."
The Behemoth roared again and charged.
This time Rai didn't move away.
Grik screamed.
"RAI MOVE!"
But Rai ran forward instead.
Directly toward the charging monster.
The distance closed instantly.
The Behemoth lowered its horn.
Ready to impale him.
At the last second—
Shadow Step!
FLASH!
Rai vanished.
He reappeared beneath the monster's chest.
The glowing cracks in its armor pulsed with energy.
The core was right there.
Rai clenched his fist.
Then drove it upward with everything he had.
CRAAAAACK!
The armor shattered.
A burst of dark energy exploded outward.
The Behemoth roared in pain.
ROOOOOOOOAAAR!
Grik stared with wide eyes.
"He broke the armor?!"
But the monster wasn't finished.
It lifted Rai with its massive claw and slammed him into the ground.
BOOOOOOM!
The impact shattered the crater floor.
Ruun shouted.
"RAI!"
Dust covered the battlefield.
For a moment…
Everything was silent.
Then slowly—
Rai stood up.
His wounds healed quickly thanks to Minor Regeneration.
Grik laughed in disbelief.
"Of course… you're still alive."
Rai wiped blood from his mouth.
Then looked up at the giant monster.
Now bleeding from its cracked chest armor.
"This fight…"
His eyes glowed slightly.
"…is almost over."
The Behemoth roared in rage and prepared another attack.
But now Rai knew exactly where to strike.
The core had been exposed.
And the next attack…
Would decide everything.
