Emily woke up the next morning and immediately buried her face in her pillow.
"What did I do last night?!"
Her mind replayed the moment outside the car.
She had kissed Alexander.
Not for the media.
Not for the contract.
But because she wanted to.
Emily groaned loudly.
"This is bad."
Her phone buzzed.
A message from Alexander.
"Meeting at 9. Don't be late."
Emily stared at the message.
"Did he forget about the kiss… or is he pretending?"
Her heart raced.
When she arrived at Knight Corporation, Alexander was already in his office.
As usual.
He looked calm.
Completely normal.
"Good morning," he said.
Emily blinked.
"Good… morning."
She waited for him to mention the kiss.
He didn't.
Instead he handed her a file.
"Prepare these reports for the afternoon meeting."
Emily frowned slightly.
"That's it?"
Alexander looked up.
"That's it."
Emily walked back to her desk confused.
"Is he ignoring it?"
But deep down…
Alexander wasn't ignoring anything.
He just didn't want to scare her.
