Later that night Alexander drove Emily home again.
The car stopped outside her apartment building.
Neither of them moved immediately.
Emily looked at him.
"You didn't have to defend me tonight."
Alexander replied calmly.
"Yes, I did."
Emily laughed softly.
"You're starting to sound like a knight protecting a princess."
Alexander smirked slightly.
"I prefer CEO."
Emily opened the car door.
But before stepping out she paused.
Then she turned back toward him.
"Alexander…"
"Yes?"
Emily hesitated.
Then she leaned forward.
And kissed him.
This time—
There were no cameras.
No reporters.
No acting.
Just silence.
When she pulled away, both of them looked surprised.
Emily quickly stepped out of the car.
"Goodnight!"
She rushed inside the building.
Alexander sat in the driver's seat for a long moment.
His mind replayed the kiss.
Slowly…
A rare smile appeared on his face.
Because now he knew something.
The fake relationship was becoming something far more dangerous.
Real feelings.
