CHAPTER 53
THE UPPER CLASSMEN RETURNS
The fortress looked ancient, but it was way more sturdy than it looks.
Multiple knights stood on watch towers with swords strapped to their waist.
They stood gallantly admist the heavy rain fall warring against their armors.
At the small court yard, two knights brandished their swords as they locked in a duel.
Few knights gathered to watch while cheering, under the rain.
Another knight stood at the side, supervising.
Sir Zach walked past the court yard, clad in full black armor , and eluding an aura of authority and nobility.
The two knights who were dueling paused and bowed to their superior as he walked past
Sir Zach nodded at them to continue... which they did without hesitation.
In the inner structure of the fortress, there were multiple rooms, keeps, and storage, but one of the storage led to an underground cave.
The cave walls were lined with beast crystals which glowed along to lightened the path.
It was obvious that the cave was man made.
Sir Zach made his way through the cave and ahead, an opening came to view.
He stepped into the opening and paused.
Deep within the cave was much bigger than wider in space.
The cave ceiling was also covered with beast crystals as a source of light, but it wasn't even needed.
At the center of the cave, glowing with intense spirit energy, a red circular portal stood.
It looked like a crack in space, and emitted a slight heat sensation.
It was known as a Beast portal, cause it led to another world full of danger beasts.
Standing some distance away from the portal, six knights stood, as if waiting for an arrival.
Well...one of them was a royal knight clad in bulky armor and the others were clad in thick blue robes, with a pink flower 🌺 pattern.
They were Beast Masters from the Flowing Flower Clan.
One of them stood out amongst them, wearing a blue leather armor.
Her dark skin had a subtle glow, and her brown hair fluttered.
She had a small figure, but her beauty was exquisite it.
Her gaze was calm and her body excluded and aura of authority.
Her name was Adele, an Ascendant stage beast master, and she was the vice leader of the Flowing Flower Clan.
Adele noticed another presence in the cave and turned to see Sir Zach walking towards them.
"Sir Zachary"
She gave a short bow.
Sir Zach nodded and looked at the Royal Knight.
"Sir Basill, is this really the right time for that?"
He sighed.
Sir Basill looked at him and chuckled.
He was munching on a large meat with a bone.
"I still gotta eat even in tense situations. It calms the nerves down"
Sir Basill replied.
Adele shook her head.
Sir Basill was a Royal Knight and and an Ascendant stage beast master.
He was tall and muscular with short black hair, but also bulky with a large belly.
And appetite.
"I think they're coming now"
Adele suddenly said, bringing their attention back to the portal.
The portal made a whirling sound and a figure stepped of it... Looking tired and disheveled and covered with black soot, blood and injuries.
Admist the tired and disheveled look, the teenager boy slowly let out a smile upon seeing Sir Zach and Basill.
"Finally... back in the real world"
Tears were about to roll down from his eyes, but it didn't have the time to come out...
"Move it you fool..."
Another figure stepped out of the portal and pushed the boy away.
"Whoa....
The floor crashed to the ground, but refused to get back up.
He was exhausted to the max.
They all were...
The cave began to fill up as multiple third year students came out of the portal one by one.
They were all battered and bruised, but some where in a more serious condition.
As they trooped out, some of the students carried the ones that were unconscious and some could barely walk.
The Beast Masters from the Flowing Flower Clan suddenly went into action.
They emitted spirit energy and began to heal the students that were in more severe conditions.
Adele watched them as they worked, looked back at the portal.
"Where's Lyon?"
Sir Zach asked one of the students.
"He stayed behind to help the instructors ward off some danger beasts. They were beyond the Magical Rank"
The student replied.
Sir Zach looked back at the portal, and a figure slowly stepped out of the portal.
He was tall with a slim muscular build and had long black hair.
His leader armor were tattered and ruined and covered with blood.
But the young man showed no expression, even with the intense pain running through his body.
"Your highness"
Sir Zach, Basill and Adele bowed in respect.
This was the strongest students of the third, he was a three star Beast Knight, a prodigy indeed.
Crown Prince Lyon, the only son of the King of Avalon Kingdom.
