CHAPTER 61 NOT SO DIFFICULT RACE
At the desolate canyon, the weather reflected the fury of the gods upon the land.
The thunder roared as the lightning flashed, seemingly tearing the fabric of space with each flash.
While the water dropped, like multiple dam burst, upon the uninvited guests below them.
The first year students were the uninvited guests, and strangely, it was like they knew.
The race was more tricky and troublesome than last, due to the heavy downpour.
But ignoring the natural disaster, Lunar took the lead.
He had always excelled in speed.
He refused to let the swampy environment be an obstacle.
His long hair was tied upward, to prevent it from getting in his way.
With eyes focused, he let his legs do the talking, jumping over large rocks and deep swamps, while his arms supported.
"I'm definitely getting a long shower after this "
He frowned.
Behind him, Roman followed, just distance away.
At first he was surprised that Lunar had decided to stop playing, taking the race with serious intent.
Lunar was determined to win today.
"Sorry pal, but this is my win"
Roman smirked.
He had never planned on losing today.
Roman closed his eyes for a second and felt his beastly energy, the white core that floated in his middle dantian like a second heart.
The cuffs that were strapped to his wrist did it's job to suppress his spirit energy, but his beastly energy was entirely different, and foreign.
Roman let the energy flowed to his legs, empowering it with more strength .
With a kick to the muddy ground, Roman shot forward, doing a sprint and catching up Lunar in seconds.
"Try and keep up rival"
Roman smirked as he widened the gap between them.
"Oh I don't think so"
Lunar launched forward doing a sprint also.
Behind them, Anya was in third place, her athletic figure kicked forward with each pace.
While by her side was Sylver, who tried gaining the upper hand in speed.
But it was obvious that Anya was faster which left her in the fourth place.
Soon, they reached the bottomless canyon with multiple lines tied from one end to the other.
Ahead of them, the two boys, Roman and Lunar, where already swinging on the rope with legs dangling below.
Roman was in the lead while Lunar was closed by.
Sometime later, they had crossed the canyon and where beginning to ascend the rough mountain.
Roman was the first to get to the top was slowly beginning to descend from the other side.
Due to the rain, the mountain was more steep and slippery than before, he preceded with caution.
Above him, Lunar was climbing down also.
"You're like a worm sticking close to me aren't you?"
Roman laughed.
"Keep laughing, I hope you fall off soon"
Lunar smirked.
"In fact, I can help you with that"
He pressed his heel to a weak part of the mountain wall and it crumbled.
A small rock slide occurred, rushing towards Roman's direction.
"Oh shit.."
Using his strength, Roman pushed himself to the side, escaping the descending danger, but strangely, Lunar had appeared beside Roman, with a fist flying forward.
Roman's reaction speed was slow, but he still managed to block the attack with his arms.
But Lunar was already sending a right kick, while keeping his balance in the steep mountain wall.
Above them, Anya and Sylver had already reached the mountain top. And without thinking, they raced forward with all the speed they could muster.
Reaching the edge, they both leaped as high as they could , further and further away.
And when the law of gravity took notice of them, they dropped.
