Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Android Beauty, Android 18! This Concerns My Whole Future, So I Can’t Be Careless!

Android 18—real name Lazuli—was a character from the Japanese manga Dragon Ball and its related works.

Android 18 was originally a beautiful, normal woman from Earth. Later, she and her twin brother, Android 17, were remodeled into androids by Dr. Gero.

She had blonde hair and blue eyes, a tall, slender figure, and a cold, striking kind of beauty.

Like an ordinary human, she liked dressing up and money. At the same time, she was also kind-hearted and loved nature.

Although she was called an android, Android 18 had been modified from a human body, which meant she could still have children.

Roy hadn't expected a character like this to be manifested into reality.

And the moment Android 18 was manifested, Roy received a message in his mind.

It said that whenever he used Nen to manifest a living being from the manga world, his Nen would automatically "fill in" that being's worldview so it fit this world, and it would also implant a subconscious rule—something like:

"He is the most important person in my life,"

"He is my master,"

"I cannot harm him,"

and so on.

This was the baseline safeguard meant to ensure the Nen user's personal safety.

Incredible—my manga Nen ability!

Of course, there were limits. This was only subconscious programming. It would work on the vast majority of living beings… but what if he ran into someone who simply didn't operate on reason?

Like Frieza.

Forget "the most important person in my life"—even if it were his father or his brother, as long as they blocked his path, he would kill them without hesitation.

And there were monsters like Cell and Majin Buu, who killed purely for the sake of killing.

If it were Fat Buu, it might be fine. If it were Thin Buu…

Forget it. Back to the present.

Roy looked at that breathtakingly beautiful face in front of him, and for a moment, he didn't know what to say.

He didn't know whether Android 18's subconscious rule was actually taking effect.

And this was the Hunter world. The "power tier" here wasn't the same as the Dragon Ball world. Roy had no idea whether his Nen could fully manifest Android 18's strength.

Thinking of that, Roy's eyes sharpened.

With his current aura capacity and Nen output, there was no way he could manifest the strongest version of Android 18. What he brought out was definitely a weakened version.

If he wanted to manifest a version as close to "complete" as possible, then there was only one way…

Restrictions and Vows!

Set rules, swear them in your heart, and uphold them. The harsher the rules, the greater the power they could unleash.

Restrictions and Vows were a double-edged sword. One misstep, and the backlash could very well destroy you.

But… as Roy stared at Android 18, his gaze steadied.

"I want to manifest Android 18's original strength to the greatest extent possible. I set these rules:

Dragon Ball will, in the future, become the most famous and most influential manga in world history!

Dragon Ball will reshape the entire landscape of the manga industry!

Dragon Ball will influence two full generations!

Dragon Ball will become the best-selling manga in the world!

Dragon Ball will become a god-tier masterpiece in every manga fan's heart—the uncrowned king!

After Dragon Ball, I will draw three more manga that become nationwide phenomena!

I will complete Dragon Ball properly. I will never drag the plot on just for rewards. And when I finish it, manga fans will cry and beg me to keep drawing Dragon Ball!

These seven rules will all happen in the future. If even one of them is not achieved, I am willing to pay whatever corresponding price it demands!"

Roy didn't hesitate at all while making the vow.

Because—come on. This was Dragon Ball.

In Roy's original world, its influence had already been proven beyond any doubt. And compared to that, the manga scene in this Hunter world was underdeveloped and lagging behind.

So Roy wasn't worried in the slightest that these conditions wouldn't be met.

Then, the very next second—right after he finished the seven vowed rules—a dazzling white light surged up from Android 18's body.

And in the same instant, Roy felt an utterly terrifying aura pressure erupt from her!

...

Kukuroo Mountain.

A tiny old man sitting in a rocking chair, watching an animated show, slowly opened his eyes.

Hunter Association Headquarters.

A shameless, lecherous old man who had been sipping fragrant tea while staring at a female staff member's chest lifted his head.

Far, far away from the Six Continents—somewhere swallowed in darkness.

"Hm?"

A figure whose face could not be seen clearly—but who vaguely resembled the Hunter world's protagonist Gon Freecss and Ging Freecss—paused mid-motion.

...

That aura pressure came fast, and it vanished just as fast.

Aside from Roy, the instigator of it all, and only a handful of top-tier experts across the entire world who sensed something strange, everyone else remained completely unaware.

And at this point, Android 18 had already recovered from the confusion of first appearing.

Her cool, aloof eyes swept around—until they landed on Roy, who had been staring at her the whole time. In that instant, her gaze softened.

Seeing the change in her eyes, Roy let out a breath of relief.

The eyes were the windows to the soul.

The moment Roy saw the shift of emotion in Android 18's eyes, he knew it.

This round… was stable.

Now the only question was: just how much of her strength had manifested?

But judging by that terrifying aura pressure earlier, she could probably sweep the Six Continents without much trouble… probably.

The next moment, Android 18 took light steps and walked toward Roy.

The sound of her boots against the floor was soft. In no time, the distance between them became very small.

Roy could even smell that faint, captivating fragrance on her body.

Seeing her stunning face from this close distance, Roy blanked out for a second.

Android 18 looked at Roy like that, and the corner of her mouth lifted—so slightly it was almost imperceptible.

"Roy… a couple days ago, I saw a pretty gemstone at the mall. Buy it for me~"

Her voice was calm, but threaded with a softness and a hint of coyness that was hard to notice unless you listened closely.

"A gemstone?" Roy snapped out of it.

And then, in the next instant, he understood.

For Android 18, there were only three people who mattered most in her life:

Her fellow android twin brother Android 17, her daughter Marron, and her husband Krillin.

With that tone, clearly Roy's role in her subconscious wasn't "the child."

And with Android 18's personality, she obviously wouldn't have her brother buy her gemstones.

After all, in certain contexts, gemstones were a stand-in for love.

So it was obvious: Roy's assigned role was replacing Krillin's position.

"Husband, huh?"

Looking at the faint expectation in Android 18's eyes, Roy accurately found his place.

"I don't have much money on me right now, but once my manuscript pay comes in, I'll personally take you to the mall and buy it with you!"

Roy might have been single, but that didn't stop him from knowing plenty of relationship theory.

He knew that at times like this, a man absolutely could not fold. He had to pound his chest and make it sound decisive.

Sure enough, after hearing Roy's answer, Android 18's eyes softened even more.

"…Mm."

After that quiet reply, Android 18 turned her head and looked around the room, then raised an eyebrow.

"This place is awful. No ventilation, and the lighting is bad."

"The furniture is too old. It doesn't have to be luxurious, but at minimum a home needs a proper sofa."

"And the space is too small. One person might manage, but two people can only barely squeeze in."

Roy: "..."

"Ahem. This is a studio and dorm the magazine office provided for me. It's actually pretty comfortable."

He touched his empty pocket. He really didn't have extra money to move right now.

If the magazine office didn't provide meals, he might even be struggling to eat.

Mainly because these past few days he'd been focused entirely on drawing Dragon Ball to meet the deadline—he hadn't had time to earn anything else.

"No. We have to move to a better place—at least with a spacious room."

Android 18's attitude on housing was firm.

"Didn't you just draw a manga for your Boss? Have him switch you to a better place?"

Go ask Mr. Luke?

They had just arranged a premium placement for his manga, and now he was going to run over and demand a nice room—honestly, that was pretty embarrassing…

"If we have a kid in the future, can you bear to let them live in an environment like this?"

Roy: "...We're moving! I'll go find Mr. Luke right now!"

This concerned his entire future. There was no room for sloppiness.
