Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Rapidly Improving Strength!

The turtle shell's results were extremely satisfying. After only a few days of training, Roy could feel an obvious, dramatic difference compared to before.

Weighted training from the Dragon Ball world really was nothing like the weighted training methods in other worlds.

Now Roy was desperately hoping he could "manifest" that legendary training tool from the Dragon Ball world—the gravity room built by Bulma's father.

Training was producing real results, and as time passed, Dragon Ball's influence continued to spread outward. Everything was developing in a positive direction.

And every seven days, Roy would successively receive items from the Dragon Ball world—items that were steadily getting better and better.

Starting with Master Roshi's custom weighted turtle shell, then Bulma's sweet-scented panties, pirate treasure worth five million, Oolong's three-minute shapeshifting, Puar's full version of shapeshifting, genius-level martial arts training talent, a full set of household Capsules, and more.

The pirate treasure, of course, was immediately taken into safekeeping by Android 18, her eyes practically glowing.

Android 18 wasn't interested in the shapeshifting techniques or the Capsules, so she only took two storage Capsules for holding things. Everything else Roy kept for his own use.

However, there was another pleasant surprise: after Android 18 saw Roy "manifest" treasure with his Nen ability, she instantly developed a huge interest in Nen.

As for the genius-level martial arts training talent, it massively accelerated Roy's training efficiency and speed, causing his strength to increase at a breakneck pace.

And so, Roy's days became harmonious and comfortable.

Both in his career—and in his sex life.

During the day, aside from training, he would accompany Android 18 while she went shopping, bought things, ate out, and relaxed. Occasionally, he would draw the Dragon Ball manga.

With his current strength and hand speed, he could finish drawing the entire Dragon Ball story in less than a single day.

At night, naturally… it was adult-making time.

After training, Roy's physique had become much stronger.

But unfortunately, even the strongest beast of burden has a moment when it gets worn out.

There are workers who collapse from exhaustion, but the work itself never "breaks."

After training for this period of time, with Aura and Nen stacked together, Roy might still be a bit short of what it took to walk the Dark Continent—but to rampage across the Six Continents? That was completely doable!

Even if it was the Hunter Association or Meteor City, he was confident he could go in and out repeatedly—no one could stop him!

That wasn't exaggeration. Nen and Aura reinforced each other, and combined with genius-level martial arts training talent, Master Roshi's custom weighted turtle shell, and Android 18's careful guidance, his rate of growth was downright terrifying.

And the power scale of the Dragon Ball world really was stronger than the Hunter world by who-knew-how-many times over.

At the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta's Galick Gun could casually annihilate a planet—let alone the mid-to-late stages where battle power skyrocketed geometrically.

Meanwhile, no matter how bizarre the Hunter world could be, at its core it was still confined to a single planet—meaning it sat at a level where Vegeta could erase it with a single Galick Gun.

So from a fundamental power-scale standpoint, that natural "tier difference" made Roy's current strength practically inevitable.

Author's note: This story is set with the Dragon Ball world being stronger than the Hunter world. If you don't like that, don't flame—it's simply the setting.

In fact, after his strength soared, during these monotonous, harmonious days, Roy even found himself hoping some villain would show up—someone he could use as a prop to show off and slap down.

What Roy didn't realize was that villains in his heart would always exist, anytime and anywhere—because Dragon Ball was so explosively popular that it had already affected certain people's vested interests.

Many people had set their sights on Dragon Ball and Shonen Magazine. They had made plans, taken shots, and tried dirty tricks.

But none of them succeeded.

Why? Dragon Ball's influence was simply too massive. The entire manga industry felt enormous goodwill toward a work like Dragon Ball—something capable of revitalizing the whole field.

Those famous mangaka had indeed been impacted in the short term by Dragon Ball's shockwave, but from a long-term perspective, Dragon Ball was pushing manga as entertainment into the public eye. In the future, the number of people who paid attention to the manga scene—and to other manga works—because of Dragon Ball would absolutely surge.

When that happened, those famous mangaka would all benefit greatly.

And they didn't even need to wait for "the future." Even now, there were readers who, because of Dragon Ball, had started getting interested in manga beyond Dragon Ball.

After the initial hit, sales of their manga actually climbed quite a bit instead!

Therefore, anyone who tried to mess with Dragon Ball would become a public enemy of the entire manga industry—every mangaka in the field.

So the people who wanted to move against Dragon Ball shifted their target to Shonen Magazine.

But obviously, Luke wasn't someone to be trifled with.

He had dominated the manga industry for decades and built a magazine company into a thriving powerhouse. Of course he had the ability—and the methods—to back it up.

And on top of that, he had extremely broad connections in the manga world.

Especially after many people learned about the relationship between Luke and Roy—how Luke had helped Roy and so on—they immediately decided to build goodwill with Luke.

And so, a large number of people started openly supporting Luke and cheering him on.

Reality proved that giving help during hard times was far less common than joining in when things were already going well.

Dragon Ball couldn't be touched. Shonen Magazine couldn't be touched either. So soon, someone put the target on Dragon Ball's author—Roy himself.

Some of these people had considered using carrots and sticks to make Roy leave Shonen Magazine.

But Roy was doing perfectly fine at Shonen Magazine. He lived in Luke's huge house, enjoyed excellent treatment, and Luke had recognized his talent—strictly speaking, Luke had even saved his life.

So why would Roy ever switch allegiances?

The "bribe him" route was discarded.

Then many people started thinking about intimidation.

They sent many people to try to threaten Roy, kidnap him, and scare him—but none of those people came back.

They even posted bounty listings in the underground world, and plenty of well-known underworld operators accepted the job.

But without exception, they all failed. Not a single one returned alive.

They would never imagine that Roy's own strength had already reached an extremely high realm—and that by his side was a woman who seemed very likely to be the strongest in the entire Hunter world!

And so, those who tried intimidation also went quiet.

At that point, Dragon Ball's road ahead became completely unobstructed.
