[Start of the chapter]

With a few swift motions, Kiriko pulled five signs from his clothes and flicked them one by one to the five of them. Some things might have changed, but some things could not be changed.

Roy pinched the sign in his hand marked 406, then glanced at the one in Android 18's hand marked 407.

After exchanging handshakes and farewells, Kiriko waved his sleeve and left with effortless flair.

Once Kiriko was gone, a disagreement immediately broke out inside the private room.

It was the same old topic again: what kind of profession was a Hunter, exactly?

Especially after Roy's identity as a manga artist had been exposed, Leorio and Kurapika were both deeply shaken. A manga artist with such astonishing achievements was still coming to take a Hunter Exam with such a high death rate.

Back on the Ship: Sea God, Kurapika and Leorio had dueled over the things they each cared about, and because of that, they had instead overlooked their differences in ideals regarding Hunters.

But now, after passing layer upon layer of obstacles and finally arriving at the official Hunter Exam venue, with the real exam about to begin, the tension of waiting made them pick up that previously ignored topic once more.

Kurapika and Leorio launched into a fierce debate over the profession of Hunter, and they even tried to persuade Gon and Roy to their side, but it got them nowhere.

Gon only had one view of Hunters: they could help him find his dad. As for what kind of Hunter he would become after obtaining a Hunter License, that probably was not even within the scope of the boy's thoughts.

The kid probably had not even figured out the specific branches of Hunters yet.

As for Android 18, there was even less to say. She had the exact same idea as Leorio: Hunter License = endless money!

Kurapika tried earnestly to persuade Android 18, but she barely paid him any attention, which made Leorio extremely pleased.

As for Roy, well, he listened to his wife.

And besides, when Roy had previously said he wanted to witness Shingen-ryu Kung Fu, his real purpose had been to meet Isaac Netero, the man known as the number one martial artist at the peak of the craft.

When three walk together, one can always learn from the others. Anyone who could become the best in the world was bound to have something worth learning from.

Especially the number one martial artist. Roy very much wanted to test Isaac Netero's strength for himself and see just what level his true combat power in this world had reached.

As for what he had said earlier about looking for manga inspiration, that was a joke. Coming from Earth to this world, how could Roy ever lack inspiration?

What he really needed to think about was which manga he should serialize next.

"Hmm… What should I choose next? One Piece? Or Bleach? Naruto? Knights of the Zodiac? Devil Fruits, Haki, and the Six Powers are all great stuff! Reiatsu and chakra are pretty good too. Cosmo is also strong, and the Gold Cloths are incredibly cool too. Man, this is such a hard choice…"

For someone with chronic indecision, this really was a painful problem.

"Here, stop thinking about other things for now. Eat first. Open your mouth."

Roy immediately threw those thoughts to the back of his mind, opened his mouth, and with a blissful expression ate the steak Android 18 had specially cut for him.

After all, if you were sitting around waiting in a steakhouse, how could you not order a steak?

Watching Roy and Android 18 act so lovey-dovey, Kurapika and Leorio instantly lost steam. All of a sudden, the topic they had been arguing about seemed completely meaningless.

Roy and Android 18 dealt critical emotional damage to the two single guys, Kurapika and Leorio.

The two of them gradually quieted down. Gon had no idea what had happened, but seeing that they had stopped arguing made him very happy.

Time passed second by second. Then suddenly, Roy's eyebrow twitched, and a milky-white ball of light that no one else could see appeared in his hand.

He had already known on the way here that today was the release day for the newest issue of Shonen Magazine. Counting the time, it was just about when his ability would activate and manifest an item.

That ball of light was his unique Nen Ability. Only Roy himself could see it; no one else could.

After witnessing the madness of the people on the streets, Roy no longer had the slightest doubt that the ball of light might produce another incredible item.

No joke—Dragon Ball was so explosively popular now that it had gone completely beyond reason. And with Nen, the hotter the manga became, the higher the grade and quantity of the items that would manifest.

So Roy was feeling rather excited about what good thing might appear this time.

The milky-white glow gradually faded away and slowly turned into a dingy little gray pouch.

"Hm?" Roy raised a brow, then weighed the little pouch in his hand.

A crisp, distinctive sound came from inside at once, and Roy immediately realized what the pouch contained.

"I really didn't expect this to manifest. I thought this would only appear much later on. Looks like I still underestimated just how insanely popular Dragon Ball has become."

Just as Roy was starting to feel delighted with what he had obtained this time, and after Kurapika and Leorio had finally calmed down completely, the entire floor suddenly began to sink, while the surrounding walls started to rise.

All of them immediately stood up. They all knew that the official Hunter Exam was about to begin!
