Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Everyone’s Movements, and the Goldo Bind Technique!

Amori carried Imori on his back and didn't even dare look at Roy and the others. He ran straight into the forest to look for his big brother.

After Amori left, the examinees who came ashore afterward all cautiously glanced at Roy's group before sprinting into the forest as well.

Some time later, all the examinees had finished landing.

Lippo glanced at Roy and Android 18, who were sitting by the shore, then made a gesture from the boat.

With a blast of the whistle, the ship sailed away.

The sea breeze blew over, making Roy's hair flutter nonstop.

Just as the sun was about to set, someone emerged from the woods.

It was Illumi Zoldyck.

As a complete little-brother fanatic, Illumi had come to see Roy, and Roy naturally knew what he wanted to talk about.

It was nothing more than a few matters concerning Killua Zoldyck.

As for the specific details of what Illumi said, Roy had no idea.

He listened for a while, then fell asleep.

Illumi stopped talking and quietly looked at the sleeping Roy and Android 18, who remained by his side, not revealing what he was thinking.

Only after a long while did he leave.

...

The seven days passed by slowly, and the hunting between the examinees unfolded in silence.

In a patch of dense undergrowth, a tall, fat examinee collapsed with an unwilling expression on his face. Pokkle, carrying his bow and arrows, stepped forward happily and took the man's number tag. After looking around and confirming there was nothing unusual, he quickly concealed himself.

Hidden nearby, Gon Freecss watched the whole scene and seemed thoughtful. Then his ears twitched, and his gaze casually flicked in one direction.

In that direction stood several rows of tall trees, and up in one of them, Geretta — whose number tag had previously been snatched away by Roy — was carefully observing everything.

A few days later, at a waterfall, Gon Freecss and the chief across from him cupped their hands toward each other.

One held a stone spear.

The other held a fishing rod.

Behind Gon Freecss, Geretta quietly waited for a chance to strike with a single fatal blow.

...

At the edge of a sheer cliff, a cool and capable woman wearing sunglasses lay prone, her graceful figure fully on display.

She held an icy sniper rifle in her hands and searched for prey through the scope.

Within the lens appeared Leorio, lying beneath the shade of a tree on the opposite side of the cliff, seemingly resting.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you."

Siper licked her lips and spoke indifferently.

The two of them had actually drawn each other's number tags.

It had to be said, that was a kind of fate.

The only question was who was the hunter, and who was the prey.

Under the shade, Leorio let out a low, creepy chuckle.

"Heh heh heh..."

...

Deep within a forest, beside a stream, a little monkey was shivering in a man's arms, while that man's face was swollen so badly that he looked utterly miserable.

Man and monkey clung to each other and huddled beneath a rock.

This man was Examinee No. 118, Sommy. He raised a clever little monkey and could be considered quite an experienced examinee.

Another man lay beside him.

It was none other than Tonpa, the Rookie Crusher.

But at the moment, he had already lost consciousness.

"You should've handed it over sooner."

Sommy's lips moved, but in the end, he said nothing.

Kurapika wiped his hands and turned to leave.

He had already gathered six points. All that remained was to wait until the seven-day time limit ended.

...

Beneath a large tree whose roots jutted out above the ground, Killua Zoldyck casually tore apart the hat in his hand.

The two Amori brothers were wedged between the roots, trembling in fear as they looked at Killua Zoldyck's expressionless face.

"Hand it over."

Killua Zoldyck stretched out his hand.

Without saying a word, the two of them immediately pulled out their number tags from their pockets and handed them over.

Killua Zoldyck took the number tags and turned away at once.

"Boring."

He muttered softly to himself.

After Killua Zoldyck left, the two men collapsed limply to the ground.

Imori, lying nearby, still had not woken up.

And from the side of the tree roots, a bald figure quickly followed after Killua Zoldyck.

...

Day by day, time passed, and before long the seven days were almost over.

During this period, nearly every examinee had given it everything they had.

And during these seven days, Roy once again received an item manifested through Nen.

More precisely, it was a kind of ability.

Guldo's Bind Technique!

Guldo, one of the Ginyu Force members under Frieza in Dragon Ball, was the weakest in terms of raw power, but he possessed psychic abilities capable of controlling time and space.

The longer he could hold his breath, the longer he could stop time. He also had the Bind Technique, which could prevent an opponent from moving and lock them in place.

There was no doubt that both of these abilities were extremely powerful.

There was no need to even mention the time-stop ability. In a clash between experts, a single second was enough to decide life or death. Stopping time was practically a bug-level power.

And the Bind Technique was naturally just as practical — a trump card that could render an enemy unable to move.

Even if an opponent was too strong to be completely restrained, as long as it could make their body hesitate or freeze for a split second, that was already enough.

It could be said that the Bind Technique was a major boost to Roy's combat strength.

Moreover, the manifestation of Guldo's Bind Technique gave Roy an idea.

Since even the Bind Technique could be manifested, then Guldo's time-stop ability should probably be able to manifest as well.

That made Roy feel a faint sense of anticipation.
