Chapter 6 - Chapter 6-18+

"Well, look who's here. Long time no see, Young Master Lin." A beautiful woman in professional attire approached me. Tall and curvaceous, she wore her hair in a high ponytail and sported a pair of frameless glasses. A sweet smile graced her face as she looked directly at me. The most striking feature was her face—identical to Mu Xianning's, because she was Mu Xianning's twin sister, Mu Lingze.

Both sisters were close friends of Qin Jingyan, though one had chosen to pursue postgraduate studies while the other, due to her connection with Qin Jingyan, had started working right after graduation. She had been called in by Auntie Ouyang to serve directly as her secretary.

"I've told you not to call me 'Young Master'~" I said, covering my face with my hand.

"And who is this?" Mu Lingze noticed Zhao Chenyu standing behind me.

"Ah..."

"He's a junior from my university. I brought him along to try out an interview, to see if he can run errands for Auntie Ouyang or something." Before Zhao Chenyu could react, I answered for him.

"Ah—yes, that's right! Hello, Senior. I'm a junior from the Sports Department." Zhao Chenyu stepped forward, slightly bowing as he introduced himself. There was an unusual sparkle in his eyes as he looked at Mu Lingze.

[Is he so captivated by a beautiful woman that he can't even move?] I thought to myself, feeling a twinge of disdain.

"I see. Well, you'll have to wait a bit. And honestly, your timing isn't great," Mu Lingze hummed in acknowledgment, ignoring him and turning to speak to me instead.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Recently, some of the company's executives have run into a bit of trouble. President Lan is dealing with it right now—she's in her office reprimanding someone~" Mu Lingze pointed toward the door of the adjacent office.

"Ah? Then what about..." Before I could speak, Zhao Chenyu interjected nervously.

I ignored him, thinking to myself that this was perfect—he could serve as a punching bag for Auntie Ouyang.

Before we could exchange a few more words, the office door swung open. A man emerged, holding a folder and nodding repeatedly with an apologetic smile as he backed out. I noticed the papers inside the folder were crumpled and askew. When he spotted Mu Lingze, he forced a smile, then glanced at Zhao Chenyu and me before trudging away with a dejected expression, head bowed.

Mu Lingze and I exchanged glances. She even shot Zhao Chenyu a pitiful look, which only made him more anxious.

"Xiao Ling, get me a cup of coffee." The familiar voice of Auntie Ouyang came from inside the room, though her tone was one I hardly recognized.

"Right away!" Mu Lingze responded and walked in, with Zhao Chenyu and me following closely behind.

Auntie Ouyang's office was divided into two sections: the outer area was Mu Lingze's workspace, and further inside was another door leading to Auntie Ouyang's private room.

Mu Lingze quickly prepared a cup of coffee and was about to carry it in when, unexpectedly, Zhao Chenyu stepped forward and said, "Senior, let me handle it."

Mu Lingze looked at him in surprise. I, too, gave the junior a second glance.

Zhao Chenyu took the coffee tray from Mu Lingze's hands and glanced at me. I noticed his hands were trembling slightly, causing the spoon inside the cup to clink against the ceramic with a crisp sound.

Mu Lingze looked at me, and I shrugged in response. Walking ahead of Zhao Chenyu, I opened the door.

"Auntie Ouyang, I'm here~" I walked in and saw Auntie Ouyang leaning back in her executive chair, dressed in a black suit and white shirt. She had one leg crossed over the other, one hand resting on the armrest while the other massaged her temples. Her suit jacket was slightly open due to her posture, and the shirt hugged her perky chest, accentuating her allure. I called out to her.

"Oh, my dear is here~ This..." Auntie Ouyang's worried expression vanished the moment she saw me, and she started to rise with a smile. But then she noticed Zhao Chenyu following closely behind me and settled back into her chair. She pulled her suit jacket closed, her expression turning serious as she furrowed her brows slightly and gave me a questioning look.

The room fell into silence. None of us spoke. Zhao Chenyu slowly placed the coffee from the tray onto the table in front of Auntie Ouyang, then held the tray behind his back and took a few steps back. He glanced at me before addressing Auntie Ouyang.

"Um... President Lan, hello. My name is Zhao Chenyu. I'm a junior in the Physical Education Department at N University. I met Senior Lin and asked him to help me find a job. I heard you were hiring a driver, so I took the liberty of coming with him for an interview. I have a B2 driver's license and six years of driving experience. I can also handle some assistant tasks. At school, I participated in a project and was responsible for planning..." After a short while, he finished his self-introduction. Throughout, Auntie Ouyang didn't once look at him, sipping her coffee slowly.

Silence filled the room again. Zhao Chenyu's already narrow eyes squinted as he stared at the floor, his throat moving slightly as he nervously swallowed.

When he finished, Auntie Ouyang's gaze returned to me. I repeated my earlier gesture—shrugging.

I looked at Zhao Chenyu and thought, Are you out of your mind? Where's your resume?*

But then it occurred to me that either he was too nervous and forgot, or he didn't want to present it. In this situation, it wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

Auntie Ouyang took another sip of coffee, then looked at me, pointed at him, and tilted her chin toward the door.

I understood immediately and led Zhao Chenyu out.

"Xuanyu, you stay~" Auntie Ouyang's voice came from behind.

I told Zhao Chenyu to wait outside with Mu Lingze, then turned back, entered the room, and closed the door.

As soon as I shut the door and turned around, I saw Auntie Ouyang had already stood up and walked over. She took my hand and led me to the nearby sofa. Pressing my arm to make me sit, she nestled close beside me, then swung her legs—clad in her elegant suit pants—onto my lap. She pinched my cheek with her slender fingers and pulled, saying with a hint of fierceness:

"Well, you little rascal, tell me, who is that guy?"

"Ouch, Auntie, that hurts!" I didn't dare resist, so I wrapped my arm around her waist from behind.

"Hold me tighter!" Auntie Ouyang released my cheek and commanded. I quickly complied, pulling her waist closer toward me. The side of my chest could already feel the softness of her bosom.

"Speak!" Though she sounded a bit fierce, the fragrance she carried was incredibly soothing to me.

"Ah... it's just a junior from school who asked me to help him find a job. I thought since you happen to need someone, why not let him give it a try?" I rubbed my face, putting on a pitiful expression.

"Is he close to you?" Aunt Ouyang asked.

"Just so-so. We often play ball together, though," I said.

"If you're not that close, why bring him to Auntie? You little rascal!" Aunt Ouyang pinched me again.

"Ouch! But honestly, Auntie, it seems like you really should hire a few assistants to avoid getting so upset by the people below you." Thinking of the dejected person from earlier, I spoke up.

"Sigh, yes. My dear is the best, always caring about Auntie. Mwah~" Aunt Ouyang kissed me on the cheek she had just pinched.

"So, what should I do about this young man?" Aunt Ouyang asked.

"What should you do?" I said in surprise.

"Yes, you decide," Aunt Ouyang said, wrapping her arm around my neck. For a moment, I didn't feel like a nephew but more like Aunt Ouyang's man.

"Well... I was originally planning to just brush it off. If you think he's suitable, keep him. If not, just send him away with a few words." I thought for a moment before answering, but only after speaking did I realize I'd left the problem with Aunt Ouyang again.

"Calling you a little rascal really fits. You were just planning to brush it off, yet you brought him to Auntie. You could've just brushed him off with someone lower down." Aunt Ouyang pinched me again on the cheek she had just kissed.

"Ah, well, what if you really do need a driver?" I argued.

"If I wanted to hire a driver or a bodyguard, there are plenty of people. No need for you to worry about it, young master," Aunt Ouyang said.

"My dear is still the best, always keeping Auntie in mind. Mwah~" Aunt Ouyang kissed me again on the cheek she had just pinched. What did this side of my face do to deserve this? A mix of stick and carrot.

"Then forget it. I'll take him away later," I said.

"Up to you. But as for you, come keep Auntie company when you have time. Work is so boring every day. If it weren't for earning money for you, I would've handed the company over long ago," Aunt Ouyang said.

"Earning money for me? Isn't it for Jingyan?" I widened my eyes, looking at Aunt Ouyang's stunning face up close.

"Is there a difference? You and Jingyan will get married sooner or later. Once you do, Auntie will give all this to you. I've long wanted to be rid of it," Aunt Ouyang said.

"Ah... no, but what about you and Uncle Qin..." I trailed off.

"That matter? That was just a joke with you and Jingyan, hoping you'd hurry up and have a baby and get married," Aunt Ouyang said.

I instinctively wanted to reply, "Didn't you also say that to my mom?" But I quickly covered my mouth because if I said it, I'd be telling Aunt Ouyang I'd eavesdropped on their conversation.

"Why are you covering your mouth? Don't tell Auntie you're too shy to talk about these things. What's the big deal? Don't think of me as your mother-in-law—just treat me like your older sister. Listen, sweetie, Jingyan told me you two plan to get married and have kids after finishing your master's degrees. Auntie's asking you to put your studies aside for now. Over the next few years, seduce her! Sleep with Jingyan more often! And no condoms! Hurry up and get her pregnant so you can get married. If you feel drained, don't worry—Auntie will find every way possible to nourish you." Auntie Ouyang stared intently at me as she spoke.

My jaw dropped, and I stared wide-eyed, utterly speechless at her bold and shocking words.

"Pfft, look at you~ Did you hear what Auntie said?" This time, Auntie Ouyang didn't pinch my cheek but instead gave a twist to my chest, accidentally right on my nipple.

"Ah! Y-yes, I heard," I said, clutching my chest.

"Look at your frail little body—you're too thin. Eat more, okay? That guy just now was shorter than you, but you could tell he's in good shape," Auntie Ouyang remarked.

Although she hadn't paid much attention to Zhao Chenyu, such an obvious figure had still crossed her line of sight. I thought to myself, She's right—I really should work on building a physique like Zhao Chenyu's.

"Well then, Auntie, I'll take him and go now. I won't disturb your work any longer," I said, starting to stand up, only to be pressed back down by Auntie Ouyang.

"So eager to get away from Auntie, huh?" she said with a hint of resentment.

"N-no, it's just that you're at work, right?" I replied.

"What does work matter? Work isn't as important as you, sweetie. Besides, no one's looking for me right now," she said, wrapping her arms around my neck and leaning against my chest.

I thought to myself, Maybe Auntie Ouyang is just tired from work. It's only right for me to keep her company a little longer.

I gently held her, staying quiet and still. Auntie Ouyang's figure was truly perfect—even through her shirt, I could feel the slim, smooth curve of her waist.

I'm not sure how many minutes passed.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz…"

Auntie Ouyang's phone vibrated on the boss desk. She got up, clearly annoyed, and answered the call.

"What is it?"

[Who's on the other end? She didn't even say 'hello.']

"Hmm~ Really? They're all there?"

"They want me to go?! Can't I skip it?"

[What's got Auntie Ouyang so worked up?] I watched as she sat back in her chair, speaking into the phone with visible anger. I stood up and walked over to her side, but I couldn't hear what was being said on the other end.

"It's just a few distributors, isn't it? Do we really have to show up?"

[Seems like business-related, but who's she talking to? And why is she saying 'we'?]

"Fine, fine, you're right, okay? We need to value our partners and keep them happy, but I really don't want to go. I'll just come back smelling like alcohol again," Auntie Ouyang said irritably.

"Ugh~ Can't I send someone else?" she asked.

"Alright, alright. You win! I'm hanging up!" She angrily ended the call and tossed the phone onto the desk with a loud smack!

I watched as Auntie Ouyang slumped into her boss chair, hand pressed to her forehead, sighing deeply. Feeling a pang of sympathy, I walked behind her and began massaging her shoulders.

Auntie Ouyang knew it was me and simply enjoyed it, her previously gloomy expression easing a bit. As I massaged her, my gaze drifted toward the desk.

Aside from the computer, folders, a call button, and essential items like paper, pens, and a cup, the only personal item on Auntie Ouyang's desk was a photo frame. I had seen the picture inside before—it wasn't a family portrait of Auntie Ouyang but a photo taken during a trip, featuring Auntie Ouyang, Jingyan, me, and my mom.

After a while, Auntie Ouyang gently patted my hand, signaling me to stop.

"Whose call was it, Auntie Ouyang? It seemed to upset you," I asked.

"Who else? Who else but your Uncle Qin could boss me around like that," Auntie Ouyang said with a frown.

"I see." I had wanted to say more, but upon hearing it was Uncle Qin, I suddenly didn't know what to say.

"Did he ask you to attend a dinner?" I asked.

"Yes, another boring dinner party," Auntie Ouyang replied.

"How about I go with you? I can help you with the drinking if needed," I offered.

"No need, dear. Watching you get forced to drink would be even harder for me than drinking myself," Auntie Ouyang said, patting my hand.

Her words warmed my heart, but I also felt a sense of helplessness.

My mind raced, searching for a way to help Auntie Ouyang.

Suddenly, I thought of someone.

"Auntie Ouyang, how about asking Zhao Chenyu to go? He can hold his liquor," I suggested, recalling a previous gathering I had attended with him.

"...Alright, then call him in," Auntie Ouyang said after a moment of thought.

I hurried out of the office.
