Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Assistant Il 18+

My sister dashed off to the KTV downstairs. Jingyan had originally wanted to stay with me, but my sister dragged her away. Mom and Dad had planned to step out onto the balcony for some fresh air, giving Uncle Qin and Aunt Ouyang some private space, but Aunt Ouyang ended up pulling Mom into the bedroom for a chat. That left the three of us men just staring at each other.

"Let's go play pool. Bowen, you and I will go one-on-one," Uncle Qin said, leading us downstairs as well.

Though he called it a one-on-one, it was actually Dad and me teaming up against Uncle Qin.

Clack! The crisp sound of a ball dropping into the pocket. Dad and I had been standing by with our cues for several rounds already.

"Old Qin, what's the deal with that project you mentioned?" Dad asked as they chatted.

"Ah—" Uncle Qin had just bent over to aim when Dad's question made him straighten up with a sigh. "It's another big project. Not easy to secure."

"So you'll have to follow up on it?" Dad asked.

"Yeah, I'll have to go again in a while," Uncle Qin replied.

"Honestly, Old Qin, you can't earn all the money in the world. You should make time for your family. How many business trips have you taken already? It's about time to slow down," Dad advised.

"I know. Once this project is wrapped up, I'll sell off what needs to be sold. You know how it is—once you reach our level, some things are hard to turn down," Uncle Qin said. After sinking the black eight, he stared at me for a few seconds before adding, "When the time comes, I'll hand everything over to Xuanyu. Haha!"

"Come on, he's not cut out for that kind of work. I don't want him traveling all the time either. He should stick with me and focus on research," Dad said.

"Xuanyu, what do you think?" Uncle Qin asked me.

"Me? Right now, I'm definitely leaning toward research, but research needs funding too. Or maybe starting my own tech company. I've been looking into a few things already," I said, stroking my chin as I shared my thoughts.

"Great! I'll support you fully when the time comes!" Uncle Qin exclaimed loudly, while Dad shook his head helplessly.

Tap, tap, tap— The sound of slippers slapping against the stairs echoed from the staircase. I turned to see Mom and Aunt Ouyang, now dressed in matching robes of different colors—Mom in a pale blue-green and Aunt Ouyang in red. They came downstairs, and Mom placed the tray of fruit and homemade drinks she was carrying on a nearby table before heading to the KTV to find Jingyan and my sister.

"Xiaoyu, come sing with us," Aunt Ouyang called out, holding a tray of her own with fruit and drinks. I set down my unused pool cue and followed behind them.

Watching the two elegant, mature women sway gently ahead of me, their robes fitting perfectly—flowing and loose yet subtly outlining their curves—I couldn't help but admire them. Both robes were custom-made by Aunt Ouyang for Mom. Compared to Aunt Ouyang's, Mom's robe was slightly shorter but designed with more room around the chest and hips, giving it a unique charm.

Pushing open the door, I saw the two young beauties holding hands and singing "Secret Base." When my sister noticed the tray in Aunt Ouyang's hands, she ran over to take it.

The four beauties settled in, and Jingyan handed her microphone to Mom. I sat by the song selection screen and let Mom pick a song. She chose "Moonlight Over the Lotus Pond."

"I'm like a fish in your lotus pond~ Just to wait with you under the bright moonlight~" Under the soft glow of the lights, my mother held the microphone gracefully, sitting with poise. Her slender, elegant legs were gently crossed to the side, reminiscent of a beauty from an ancient painting of noblewomen. As the melodious tune flowed, her cherry-red lips parted, releasing an intoxicating song. Unlike the wild, heroic voice of the original singer, my mother's voice was gentle and tender, lingering in the air like a veiled dancer swaying gracefully. Dressed in her blue-and-white patterned pajamas, she seemed even more enchanting within the song's artistic mood, like a lotus flower slowly blooming on a tranquil summer night, bathed in moonlight—naturally charming without any adornment.

As the song ended, everyone couldn't help but applaud.

My sister passed the microphone to Aunt Ouyang, who chose an English song, "Take Me to Your Heart," originally sung by a male artist. I thought she might have made a mistake and double-checked, but Aunt Ouyang confirmed it was correct.

As the music began, Aunt Ouyang crossed her legs and leaned slightly forward while singing. Having studied abroad, her English was excellent. The song's tempo was slow, and combined with her clear, bright voice carrying the allure of a mature woman, it truly gave me a different flavor.

Midway through the song, Aunt Ouyang suddenly stood up, walked over to me by the karaoke machine, and handed me another microphone, gesturing for me to sing along with her.

"They say nothing lasts forever~"

"We are only here today~"

"Love is now or never~"

"Bring me far away~"

Aunt Ouyang looked at me as we sang together. Although my English is good, I struggle with singing English songs and could only barely keep up with her rhythm.

Moreover, singing this kind of song with Aunt Ouyang and feeling the meaning behind the lyrics made me feel a bit awkward...

When the song ended, Aunt Ouyang kissed me on the cheek. The mature, alluring fragrance mixed with the sweetness of the drink filled my nostrils, leaving me momentarily stunned.

Suddenly, Jingyan's voice came through the speakers: "Xuanyu, come over and sing a duet with me!" I tapped a few times on the interface and walked over to sit beside Jingyan.

We sang a song we both loved, "Slowly Falling in Love," its melody like the soft whispers between lovers, filled with hidden temptation and intimate closeness. The lyrics flowed with fragments of everyday life, yet every word was brimming with deep affection and love.

Jingyan was still wearing her Hong Kong-style shirt, her legs gently pressed together, her toes unconsciously swaying to the rhythm. Her clear voice carried a hint of delicacy and liveliness, adding a touch of mature allure to her youth. Our fingers intertwined, our gazes met, and we looked deeply into each other's eyes, seeing only each other's reflection, using the lyrics to convey a promise of unwavering devotion.

As the final note faded, I couldn't help but gently press a kiss to her tempting lips. She shyly lowered her head, a romantic blush spreading across her face like sunset glow reflecting on fair skin, breathtakingly beautiful.

"Wow~ I'm so jealous! Why can't I have a boyfriend?" My younger sister clapped while shaking our mother's arm and asking. Mom instinctively started to smile, the corners of her mouth already lifting, but suddenly she put on a stern face and poked my sister's forehead.

"Hmph, if you won't let me date, I'll sing! Accidentally getting fed dog food! I need to vent!!!" My sister snatched the microphone and ran off to pick a song herself.

I thought she was just making a scene, but she actually chose "Love Till Death."

I...

I silently repeated to myself, "She's my biological sister, she's my biological sister, she's my biological sister..."

...

The moon hung high in the sky, stars bright in the quiet night.

Everyone was tired from all the fun. After saying goodnight, we each went to our own rooms.

Aunt Ouyang and the other two couples naturally had their own bedrooms. I was the unlucky one—because my sister was here, and whether she was genuinely jealous or what, she insisted on pulling Jingyan to sleep with her.

No choice, I had to take the remaining bedroom on the second floor.

But before Jingyan entered her room, she gestured a phone call to me, and I responded with the same gesture, understanding her meaning.

Lying in bed, I opened my phone to find messages waiting. The first was from Zhao Chenyu.

Zhao Chenyu: "Senior, Boss Lan gave me the day off today. Did you all go to a gathering? Do I need to work tomorrow? Boss Lan didn't say. Just asking you."

I replied: "Yes, probably not on the weekend. Wait for Aunt Ouyang to contact you." Being a driver is different from other jobs—you need to be available anytime, anywhere.

Come to think of it, shouldn't he be contacting Mu Lingze? Why message me? Probably because it's related to personal life. Although Mu Lingze is also close to Aunt Ouyang and they're like sisters or friends in daily life, it's not to the extent of our two families being so connected.

He didn't reply, so I checked the other messages.

Mu Xianning: "Young Master Lin, where did you and Jingyan go today?"

Me: "None of your business!"

Unexpectedly, she replied instantly.

Mu Xianning: "You... confess honestly, or I'll tie Jingyan up in the dorm another day!"

Me: "Haha, you wouldn't dare."

Mu Xianning: "Come on, where did you go~"

Me: "Didn't Jingyan tell you?"

Mu Xianning: "No, my advisor called me, and I was separated from her for just a moment before you took advantage! Arghhh /frustrated /frustrated"

Me: "Calm down, calm down. Uncle Qin came back, just a family gathering." As Jingyan's close friends, both sisters have been to her house and met Uncle Qin.

Mu Xianning: "Oh, I see. Well, looks like you're up to no good again tonight."

I was speechless. This girl really doesn't hold back with her words.

Me: "Huh? No, Jingyan and I are a couple, both adults. What's wrong with us doing that? Isn't it normal? /knock"

Mu Xianning: "Fine, fine, fine, normal, normal, normal. I wish you an early arrival of a precious child—make it ten, okay?"

Me: "Meanwhile, you went alone to a hotel so far from school and stayed overnight. Tsk tsk."

Mu Xianning: "You... shut up! /knock"

Me: "Tell me, who is it? I can help vet them for you."

Mu Xianning: "No one."

Me: "Really? /smirk"

Mu Xianning: "My biggest regret is letting you see that."

Seeing this message, I was puzzled, but then she suddenly deleted it.

Me: "??? What did you send?" I pretended not to know and asked her.

Mu Xianning: "Nothing, just a typo."

Me: "Alright. If you like someone, you can tell me. I can help you."

Mu Xianning: "You said it, remember? A promise is a promise."

Me: "Who am I? I'm Young Master Lin."

Mu Xianning: "Fine, you owe me a boyfriend, okay?"

Me: "??? You're really good at twisting things. I only said I'd help you, and now it's turned into me owing you."

Mu Xianning: "/snicker/snicker"

Me: "I give up. Going to sleep."

Mu Xianning: "Sleep? Isn't Jingyan right next to you? Or what? Already done? /snicker"

Me: "Mind your own business, kid!"

This girl, Mu Xianning, always talks in such a vague, confusing way.

I closed the chat app and checked the time. More than half an hour had passed, and Jingyan still hadn't sent me a message.

I scrolled through videos for another ten minutes and noticed Jingyan still hadn't messaged me. Oh well, she must be too tired and already asleep. I'll just use the bathroom and go to bed too.

The bedroom I'm staying in doesn't have an attached bathroom. Their own bedrooms do, so I have to use the one on the second floor.

I quietly stepped out and turned a corner, noticing a thin sliver of light shining from under the door of one of the bedrooms.

This must be… Uncle Qin's bedroom. The door isn't closed properly. The light's on, so they're probably still awake. I should remind them.

Just as I was about four or five meters away from their room, the sounds coming from inside froze my footsteps mid-air.

"Slap! Slap! Slap!"

"Slap! Slap! Slap!"

Having experienced intimacy before, I was all too familiar with this sound—and highly sensitive to it.

Uncle Qin and Aunt Ouyang must be having sex. Well, it makes sense—they haven't seen each other in a while, so they couldn't help themselves. Seriously, they were in such a hurry they didn't even close the door properly. Looks like I won't have a chance to remind them.

I turned to leave, but the sounds from inside made me pause again.

"Ah! Ah~"

Aunt Ouyang's moans were like a siren's call, stirring the desire within me. I'll just listen for a bit. No one's around, and there are no cameras in this corner. I can just run if needed.

I crept a little closer, and the sounds became clearer.

"Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!"

"Slap! Slap! Slap!"

"Creak, creak, creak"

The moans, the sound of flesh slapping together, and the creaking of the bed blended into a devilish melody. Only being able to hear but not see was torture, fueling my already vivid imagination and feeding my growing desire.

What position is Aunt Ouyang in right now?

Are they wearing clothes?

How long have they been at it?

Judging by Aunt Ouyang's moans, they don't sound as intense as when Jingyan and I are together.

Before I could think too much, a few low, muffled groans from the man inside reached my ears.

"Ah! Honey, I'm coming! Honey!"

"Thud!" The sound of something heavy collapsing onto the bed followed, accompanied by Aunt Ouyang's soft gasp.

Then, silence fell for a while.

"Darling~ you look absolutely stunning~" Uncle Qin was speaking.

"Stunning? What's the point of being stunning? I'm still stuck alone at home, eventually turning into a worn-out housewife," Aunt Ouyang replied with a hint of melancholy.

"Oh, darling, I'm sorry. Mwah!" Uncle Qin's apology was followed by the sound of a kiss.

"Enough of that. You say the same thing every time you come back. I'm tired of hearing it," Aunt Ouyang's tone remained firm.

"In a few years, once Jingyan and Xuanyu graduate from their master's programs and get married, I'll step down. Then we can travel wherever you want, leaving everything behind. We'll even sell off your business!" Uncle Qin said.

"Are you sure? If you had this idea earlier, why didn't you act on it?" Aunt Ouyang still complained, but her tone softened considerably.

"I mean it, darling! I decided long ago. This project will be running smoothly in a few years. You know some things just can't be rushed," Uncle Qin's voice carried a trace of his earlier helplessness.

"Alright, alright, I get it," Aunt Ouyang's tone lost its resentment and even held a note of reassurance.

"Darling, the black stockings you're wearing today are absolutely gorgeous. I could hardly hold back earlier," Uncle Qin said, and I could hear the faint sound of someone shifting on the bed.

"Hey, don't get so close. Who knows how many black stockings you've seen outside, and whether you've ever torn any of them open," Aunt Ouyang's resentment returned.

"No! Darling, I may have wronged you in other ways, but I swear I've never done that," Uncle Qin suddenly adopted a tone of solemn oath.

"Just keep yourself in check. And don't hold me so tightly," Aunt Ouyang said.

"Darling, after all these years, you're still as beautiful as the day we first got together," Uncle Qin's words reminded me of the sweet nothings Jingyan and I whispered to each other in private.

"Hmph, I'm old and faded now. Some people probably don't even look twice," Aunt Ouyang said, though her words carried a hint of secret delight.

"You know, I wish Jingyan and Xuanyu could be like us," Uncle Qin mused.

"No way! I don't want him turning out like you!" Aunt Ouyang retorted. Suddenly, there was a sharp "smack!" sound. I was wondering what it was when I heard Uncle Qin say:

"Ouch! It's just a little belly, no big deal."

"You call that a little belly? It's practically a ball," Aunt Ouyang's tone mixed disdain with concern. Another "smack!" followed.

"If Bowen and I hadn't kept emphasizing it, Xuanyu would have been corrupted by you long ago. I don't want him turning out like you," Aunt Ouyang's words warmed my heart once more.

"Now, that's not fair. Society always requires some social finesse. We can't let Xuanyu become a bookworm, can we? Or make Jingyan handle all that for him? Would you really want that?" Speaking of this, Uncle Qin shed his earlier dejection and grew somewhat assertive.

"Who are you saying isn't fair?" Aunt Ouyang shot back.

"Well, what I said isn't wrong, is it?" Uncle Qin's earlier "manly bravado" vanished without a trace.

"I'm telling you, Qin Bin, I understand all of this perfectly well. I'm prepared for Xuanyu to face these things on his own, but I never expect these two kids to surpass us. Just look at what our lives have become—do you even remember what home is anymore? Do you want Jingyan to spend her nights alone too? The only reason I'm still managing the company is to ensure that everything we do provides a stable environment for them and Xuannan." Aunt Ouyang's tone carried a hint of reproach, but her sharp words felt like a warm current flowing through me, soothing my entire being.

"Alright, alright, don't be upset, dear. It's late—we're just having a chat. Let's settle down and let the kids find their own way. We'll always be here to support them, no matter what." Uncle Qin's voice softened.

"Hmph! That's more like it." Aunt Ouyang's tone softened as well.

Silence filled the air. After a moment...

"Mmm... mmm... uh..."

Smack!

"Mmwah~" A soft, crisp sound of a kiss followed.

"Darling, shall we go again?" Uncle Qin asked, his voice slightly breathless.

"Not tonight, let's sleep. Tomorrow, okay?" Aunt Ouyang replied.

"Fine, but tomorrow night, wear stockings," Uncle Qin said.

"Alright, alright, whatever you say," Aunt Ouyang agreed.

After another faint sound of kissing—click—the sliver of light from the crack vanished instantly, plunging everything into darkness.
