In a quiet atmosphere a man was seated on an exquisite seat, his eyes focused as his long slender fingers moved elegantly across a bunch of keyboards.
His face was aesthetically enticing with a sculptured nose, a pointed chin and a sharp jawline.
For a while, there were no sound except for the chirping of the bouncing keys.
That was until a name crossed him and his moving fingers ceased.
His eyes suddenly narrowed.
Rena...
He thought. How was that woman doing?
For nearly a week, he had not heard of her.
Not that he couldn't. Infact he could right now if he so wishes but he wanted to comply to her wishes.
She didn't want him to spy on her, how could he not listen?
But now while abroad, he couldn't help but think of her.
He missed her a lot but does she? Most likely not. The thought of her clinging to the man named Herman made his fists clench.
He wanted to fly over immediately. He wanted to make her listen, to make her know she was his forever.
He picked up the intercom and promptly made a call.
"Wallace get in here immediately."
"Yes Sir."
In a minute, Wallace arrived at the office.
He stood in front of his boss and asked. "Sir, what do you need?"
Lester never calls him casually.
Lester looked expressionless as he said. "Inform the marketing department to fasten up. The ongoing project should be completed in five days."
Wallace was shocked.
"Boss..."
The project was quite relevant and opt to be completed in about two weeks. It was not even a week yet, did he want everyone involved to die of exhaustion?
Lester was displeased with his attitude. "What? Can't do it?"
Wallace knew when to compromise. He nodded meekly. "Of course not, Sir."
Lester fell silent.
Wallace could tell his mood was not right. Actually ever since they left the country, it had been so. He seemed to often be a bit absentminded.
Wallace didn't know what to do. The air was a bit dense, so he inquired tentatively.
"Boss, shall I leave?"
Lester's eyelids flickered. He responded coldly. "Tell me about Herman. What did you find on him?"
He really didn't want to know or converse about this man. He was not worthy. He didn't like him either but since he was quite close to Rena, he had to know even the slightest details.
Wallace was slightly stunned by the topic, then remembered the task the boss had assigned him a while ago.
He had infact received the information needed then but due to his boss's busyness, he hadn't had the time to share it.
He spoke. "Sir, apart from work Herman had been close to Miss Georgiana of the Alberto family. The two had been engaged for six months but owning to Herman's constant persuasion, the engagement news have been kept private."
Lester countenance didn't change much.
He wasn't surprised to hear this information. It was somewhat expected.
But the plain fact his woman was being fooled and played with was enough to rile him.
How could Rena be so silly? Had her taste deteriorated this bad?
Such a scum being her boyfriend was an insult to him. He couldn't tolerate it, he couldn't tolerate her having another man.
Wallace paused.
Seeing his boss sour mood, he hesitated to speak
He sheerly knew well of the boss's feelings for the woman called Rena so he knew the next information was bound to elevate it, he had to dread carefully.
His voice went a bit low as he uttered. "Sir, Herman went at night with Miss Rena. He booked a private room at a restaurant. The room was soundproofed so what they discussed remains unknown."
Silence.
Wallace went silent but the ambiance instantly grew frigid causing him to shiver.
He didn't even need to look to know what his boss's phiz was.
He couldn't help but ponder.
A lot of women would without doubt flock to his boss at any given opportunity but Miss Rena was downright different.
Not only does she not want him around, she even devotes herself to a relationship which would yield no good result.
It was absolutely outrageous!
Herman was just an insignificant CEO, compared to his boss he was nobody.
For his boss who was at the top of the pyramid, it should be a big blow.
Lester broke the silence.
His face was held in a scowl as he mouthed.
"Conclude the project in three days. Add more employees if you must."
Wallace almost collapsed. "Sir..."
He almost wanted to cry. For he who was supervising, it meant three days of restlessness.
Would he survive?
Lester didn't care. Of course he had his own share of the burden but as long as he could meet Rena faster, he wasn't concerned.
"You can leave." He shunned him off.
Wallace hesitated. He had something to say.
Lester noticed. He rose a brow. "What is it?" He asked.
Wallace didn't delay, he revealed coolly. "Sir, Miss Georgiana is pregnant with Herman's child."

For the next few days, Rena was full of spirits. Everyone could feel her enthusiasm.
Ever since the night Herman showed his feelings, her heart had felt totally light.
She had uncovered her secrets and he yet accepted her, how could she not be ecstatic?
She quickly told Mildred about it. She just couldn't keep such to herself.
Mildred, as expected was just as happy as she was.
She laughed in glee, her voice vibrating through the screen. "Great Rena, I told you Herman truly loves you. A man like him is truly rare, you know."
Rena agreed. She had been lonely for years, apart from Mildred, it was thoroughly nice to have another companion.
Mildred added. "I have to pick up groceries at Bazz's. Let's meet there, do you have time?"
Rena leaves her server's job at 8pm, she just didn't know if she would be tired after then.
But she wanted to meet her. She had a lot to say.
Rena didn't refuse. Her groceries were almost finished and she also wanted some relaxation.
"Okay." She nodded.
She ended the call and left for the restaurant.
The restaurant was a little quiet as she arrived which was a little weird. Normally since the past days the rumors about her and Archie had heightened and every worker kept talking nonstop about it even sparing her disgusted glances.
She didn't care though as long as her salary was unaffected.
But today no one spoke nor gazed at her. Everyone was roaming about their own businesses.
She didn't think much about it.
She changed in to her work attire and immediately began receiving orders.
After serving multiple customers, the restaurant was suddenly placed on a temporary closure and all workers were suddenly called by the manager for a brief meeting.
As it appears, the boss's daughter was visiting and would act as a critic, reporting all performances to her father.
This made many nervous since the said daughter was rumored young. Everyone thought she'd be arrogant and bad-tempered.
After a few hours, she arrived.
All workers situated themselves at the door to receive her.
Rena was there also but due to how many were gathered, she was overshadowed by the crowd.
She didn't see her until all servers were called to perform before her.
That meant they would serve her and get their ability scored. Those who did poorly would get reprimanded by the boss or counseled or even fired. Everyone was on eggshells.
Rena however was calm. She was confident she would do well so they were no need to worry.
The boss's daughter came unto the second floor where they were and sat on a seat.
Rena was surprised when she saw her.
Estella.
What was she doing here?
From her attire and behavior, it was obvious she was the boss's daughter.
Rena pursed her lips, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Estella was her highschool classmate. They were never friends to begin with. She had always bullied and trampled on her.
Now in this position, it was needless to say she wouldn't give her a good rating.
But it had been years they last met. She wouldn't be so petty to be stuck on same character, would she?
Rena didn't want to think too much. If she gets fired anyways because of old grudges, even if she wouldn't feel pained, she would feel irritation.
Estella surveyed the crowd. Her face was impassive until she caught sight of a particular figure.
She was bewildered for a few seconds. She blinked and again stared just to be sure but to her astonishment, she was not mistaken.
She was shocked. She couldn't believe it.
Never in the world would she had guessed to see Rena here, especially as a... Server?
She was baffled.
But as the thought invaded her mind, a smug look appeared on her face.
She ordered with a smirk. "Hey you, serve me a cup of coffee and be quick about it."
