"Why do you want me to have more women in my life? You two are enough," Max said, taking a long drink of water as he leaned back in his chair.
Luna and Hana exchanged a look before Luna spoke, her voice calm and reassuring. "We are technically immortal. We won't age because we aren't completely organic anymore, and you're technically a spirit. Time isn't going to take us away from you."
Hana nodded and gently took Max's hand. "We also know you're a bit territorial, and we have absolutely no intention of ever being with another man. Ever. But we can have fun with girls you add, and we can all share that life together. And no matter what happens, we will never stop loving you."
The two girls wrapped their arms around him, holding him tightly on both sides until Max let out a long sigh.
"Fine," he said finally. "Who do you have in mind?"
They had already thought about it, clearly. From what they had told him earlier, no mortals or demigods were part of their plans. They were thinking long-term—immortals, gods, beings that would live as long as they would.
"We were thinking Artemis and Calypso," Hana said carefully.
Max nearly choked on his water.
"So… a goddess that hates men, and an immortal that I basically need to be near death to even meet properly?" Max said, rubbing his forehead. "Yeah. That's not easy."
"You have all those abilities to help," Luna said with a teasing smile. "So it shouldn't be too much of a problem. We didn't think we'd make it easy for you."
She leaned over and gave him a small kiss on the cheek, which didn't help his concentration at all.
Max shook his head and stood up. "I'm cooking dinner early. I don't feel like eating with the other campers tonight."
The girls followed him as he started preparing dinner. He pulled out the enchanted glasses and set them on the table. The moment he placed them down, they shimmered faintly with magic, ready to fill with whatever drink the person holding them wanted.
He cooked pasta and garlic bread—simple, but somehow it had become the girls' favorite meal. The smell of garlic, butter, and tomato sauce filled the small space, making it feel warm and comfortable, like a tiny home instead of a temporary place to stay.
They sat down together, and the enchanted cups filled themselves with their favorite drinks automatically. Max's filled with cold water, Luna's with a sweet, fruity drink, and Hana's with something that looked like tea mixed with juice.
They ate, talked, and laughed, the conversation slowly drifting away from gods and plans and immortality. The girls kept talking about their new bodies and all the things they wanted to try—some of their ideas far more suggestive than necessary. Max tried very hard not to react too much, which only made them tease him more.
But overall, it had been a good day. A really good day.
Eventually, they finished eating and moved to sit together, Luna practically laying on Max while Hana leaned against his shoulder.
"So, what now?" Luna asked. "Do we just wait?"
She clearly wanted to do something—anything. Sitting still wasn't really her style.
"We can interact with the other campers," Max said. "Annabeth is here, so that should be interesting. Just don't mess with important people like Luke. We can't change the plot too much or our information becomes useless."
"Shouldn't be a problem," Luna said. "Honestly, I want to explore this universe after the whole apocalypse thing is over. Well… at least until the next one in a decade or so. But with this many gods around, life will never be boring."
Max chuckled a little at that.
The three of them eventually laid down together, tangled up in blankets and each other. The day had been long, and despite all the crazy things happening in their lives, this moment felt peaceful.
Warm. Safe. Quiet.
They cuddled close, and before long, all three of them were fast asleep.
[A: Sorry if this and next couple chapters don't sound right. Will take a bit to calibrate the AI so it won't mess up details (like it often does when I want it to help my chapter feel more clean and smooth). But I haven't forgotten about this book]
