Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: One More Person

Found you.

Caelus stood behind a blond man with slicked-back hair. After Lancelot stepped out to draw everyone's attention, he once again concealed his presence, causing the other Servants and Masters to forget about him.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, he searched carefully for a while and found the hidden Master, who was most likely Lancer's Master.

The opponent was hiding inside a magical barrier, observing the situation outside through magical items.

However, these were useless under the influence of the power of nothingness. Before Lancer's Master could react, the magical items on his person and the barriers he had set up all failed. Before he could even use a Command Spell to summon Lancer, his heart was pierced by a sword.

Kayneth El-Melloi, a genius of the Clock Tower, a powerful Magician who might one day have reached the rank of Grand, died in the Holy Grail War held in Fuyuki City in the Far East.

Outside, Lancer, who had been watching the display of loyalty between Lancelot and Artoria and feeling quite moved, suddenly felt his connection with his Master break. Fortunately, thanks to the Master's previous methods, his mana was already being supplied by someone else. Otherwise, Lancer felt he would have dissipated before long.

"Master!"

Lancer roared in anger, but because of the presence concealment, he could not recall that there had been an Assassin with exceptionally powerful stealth abilities.

If it were not for the fact that Gilgamesh possessed the Gate of Babylon, which contained the original versions of all things in the world as a countermeasure, even he would likely not have been able to remember Caelus after his presence was concealed.

There are indeed people in this world who can remember Caelus without any assistance, but Gilgamesh is not among them.

Zelretch could do it. Of course, this does not mean that Zelretch is one hundred percent stronger than the Heroic Spirit Gilgamesh. It is mainly due to the nature of Zelretch's own abilities.

"Who is it! Who exactly assassinated my Master in such a dirty and despicable way! As a hero, do you truly have no sense of shame to use such underhanded tactics!"

Lancer questioned angrily, but never received any response.

Caelus had been sitting on the crane arm from the very beginning. Watching Lancer roaring and shouting below, he asked the System in confusion, "Why are these Servants so angry about assassination? They should all know that an Assassin exists, yet they are always particularly disgusted and angry at such methods."

[Host, people are hypocritical. They can accept using assassination to kill others in order to defeat a strong enemy, but they cannot accept others using assassination to eliminate their friends or themselves. To them, defeating a stronger enemy is glory, but being defeated by a weaker enemy is humiliation.]

"Hmm, I understand. Because it is someone else's loss, they do not feel angry, but when it concerns themselves, they become dissatisfied and annoyed. Fundamentally, it is a matter of interests, is it not?"

[Correct. That is why those who can calmly accept their own failure appear respectable, because they can accept their failure and the loss of their own interests. Such people do not immediately think to blame others, but instead reflect on their own mistakes and flaws. They may even admire those who defeated them for discovering those mistakes and flaws.]

"I understand."

While Caelus chatted with his System above, the atmosphere below became strange.

Lancer stood there, his eyes filled with rage, constantly scanning the surroundings and trying to find traces of the Assassin.

Artoria frowned, staying close beside Irisviel.

Iskandar sat on his chariot, his red cloak covering the frail and petite Waver beside him, his Master.

Lancelot also pretended to be worried about his Master. He apologized to Artoria, then left to return to Kariya's side.

Emiya Kiritsugu, who had been setting up a sniper rifle nearby, heard the commotion below and realized that Lancer's Master had been dealt with by the Assassin. He immediately packed up his weapon, used a communication device to give several instructions to his assistant observing from afar with binoculars, and then quickly evacuated the scene.

On his way out, Kiritsugu did not notice that someone had been slowly following behind him the entire time.

It was not until he got into his car parked nearby that he breathed a slight sigh of relief. He took off his gloves, and Caelus, sitting in the back seat, saw the Command Spells on the back of his hand.

'Whose Master is he?'

Caelus looked at Kiritsugu with some curiosity. He knew the Masters of the summoned Servants except for Caster. But logically speaking, should a Magician not remain with their Servant inside their own created territory or workshop? Why would someone allow their Master to come out scouting and even set up a sniper rifle at a high point?

Caelus had no intention of acting immediately. Instead, he sat quietly in the car, preparing to see if this Master would meet up with his Servant. At that time, he could eliminate the Magician who seemed to have never shown his face.

After all, according to his Master's introduction, the Caster class seemed quite troublesome. They could create various barriers and domains within their own territory. As for mana, the Caster could solve that problem themselves. Simply eliminating the Master would not eliminate the Magician enemy. One had to get close for an assassination.

Caelus sat in the car so brazenly, yet Kiritsugu did not notice at all that someone was sitting in the back seat of his car. Even though he occasionally checked the situation behind him through the rearview mirror, from his perspective there was absolutely no one in the back seat.

However, from Caelus's own perspective, his reflection was clearly visible in the mirror. He even used the rearview mirror in front of him to practice smiling, but the result was very stiff. It would have been more reasonable to simply pull up his face with his index fingers.

The car stopped behind a secluded two story building. Kiritsugu did not get out immediately. Instead, he carefully observed the surroundings once more. Only after confirming that there were no followers and no surveillance methods nearby did he get out and walk into the house.

Caelus got out with him and even thoughtfully helped lock the car, which Kiritsugu had forgotten to lock.

Even though a very obvious sound of a door closing came from behind him, Kiritsugu acted as if he had not heard it and calmly walked into the house.

Caelus followed him inside. He did not sense any special energy fluctuations within the house. It seemed that no barriers or domains had been set up here.

Then he saw a woman walking down the stairs from the second floor. After confirming it was Kiritsugu, she clearly breathed a sigh of relief, and the two embraced.

Of course, they only embraced for a moment.

Then they began to communicate.

"Kayneth is suspected to have been assassinated by the Assassin, but Lancer did not disappear immediately. It seems he used some method. Later, we will go to the hotel where they are staying and blow it up directly."

"Hmm, what do you need me to do?"

"Just provide support nearby."

Caelus walked around the house but could not find any traces of a Servant. He suspected this was only a temporary stop. It was hidden quite well.

In front of the two who were chatting, he opened the small refrigerator at the side, took out a can of cola, opened it, then sat on the sofa opposite them and drank it in small sips.

He could not really taste it, but the sensation of the soda still gave him a novel experience.

During this entire process, the two continued chatting and planning their next actions, completely unaware that there was actually a third person in the house.
