Chapter 20: The Library of Eternal Souls
The energy from the battle still lingered in the air, making the silver leaves of the Sanctuary vibrate with a low hum. After the Omega's massive display of power, the Alpha knew they couldn't just stay hidden anymore. They needed answers.
"There is a place," the Guardian of Whispers said, her voice like wind through the trees. "Deep beneath the roots of the First Tree lies the Library of Eternal Souls. It contains the records of every Great Wolf that ever lived."
The Alpha held the Omega's hand, feeling the residual warmth of the white light still pulsing beneath her skin. Together, they followed the Guardian down a spiral staircase carved into the living wood of the giant tree.
As they descended, the walls began to glow with millions of tiny, floating crystals. Each crystal was a memory, a piece of history. Finally, they reached a vast chamber filled with floating scrolls and ancient stone tablets.
The Omega walked toward a central pedestal where a golden scroll lay open. As her fingers touched the parchment, the room transformed. They weren't in a library anymore; they were standing in the middle of a cosmic battlefield from thousands of years ago.
They saw the First White Wolf fighting against a darkness that threatened to consume the world.
"She didn't die," the Omega whispered, her voice filled with realization. "She divided her soul into fragments, waiting for a host who was 'broken' enough to hold the light without being consumed by pride."
The Alpha stepped closer, his shadow merging with hers. "So, you are not just a host. You are the reincarnation of the First Mother herself."
But as the truth settled in, a dark reflection appeared in the crystals. A new enemy, far more dangerous than the Council or Kaelen, was watching them from the Void. The awakening of the Light had also awakened the Ancient Dark.
