Chapter 32 - Whispers of the First Lineage

Chapter 32: Whispers of the First Lineage

The first week of training felt like an eternity. Inside the cave, time had no meaning. The Ancient Watcher didn't teach the Omega how to fight; he taught her how to be. He made her sit for hours in the freezing mist, forbidden from using the blue fire, forcing her to confront the whispers of the ancient spirits that lived within her blood.

"The fire is not your weapon," the Watcher said, his amber eyes reflecting the dim light of the cave. "The fire is your soul. If you treat it like a tool, it will break you. You must let it breathe through you, like the wind through the pines."

The Omega groaned, her muscles aching and her mind frayed. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the Alpha's face. She could feel his loneliness through their bond, a dull ache that never faded. "I can feel him," she whispered. "He's waiting at the edge of the mountains. He's in danger."

"He is an Alpha," the Watcher replied coldly. "His strength is tested by your absence. Focus on the silence, child. If you cannot master the spark within you today, there will be no tomorrow for either of you."

Meanwhile, outside the sanctuary, the Alpha was not just waiting; he was hunting. He had spent the last seven days setting traps and misdirecting the Council's scouts. He was a ghost in the shadows, a silent protector of the cave's secret. But he could smell the change in the air. The Council had brought in someone new—a tracker known as the 'Shadow-Stalker,' whose scent was like rotting leaves and ancient magic.

The Alpha tightened his grip on his sword as a dark shape moved through the trees below. He wasn't just fighting for survival anymore; he was buying her time. And he would die before he let anyone interrupt her awakening.
