Chapter 87 - "Breaking the Crimson Seal"

Chapter 83: Breaking the Crimson Seal

The explosion of light from their unified souls forced the shadow-entity back, but the Curse was not so easily defeated. As the light hit the walls of the vault, ancient crimson seals began to glow—the physical manifestation of the blood-debt the Council had used to bind the werewolf lineage for centuries.

"It's feeding on the ley lines!" Valerius shouted over the roar of the magical storm. "If the seals don't break now, the energy will backtrack and destroy the Silver Moon Pack instead of saving it!"

Silas felt the strain in his muscles, his golden aura flickering as the Curse tried to drain his strength. "Elara, we have to strike the center! The source isn't the shadow, it's the seal on the floor!"

In the center of the vault floor was a large, blood-red crest of the Council. Elara understood instantly. She didn't just channel her light; she channeled her forgiveness—the very thing that the Council's hate-based magic couldn't compute.

"For every year in the dark, for every scar on my soul, I release this debt!" Elara cried out, slamming her glowing silver mark onto the crimson crest.

The ground beneath them cracked. A fountain of white and gold fire erupted, tearing through the shadow-entity. The crimson seals shattered one by one, sounding like the breaking of heavy iron chains. Silas let out a roar of triumph as he felt the heavy 'Alpha's Pride' dissolve, replaced by a sense of true leadership and equality.

Outside the vault, across the entire territory, every member of the pack felt a sudden lightness in their chests. The dark fog that had lingered for generations was finally lifting.

But as the dust settled in the vault, the spirit of the First Alpha began to fade, leaving behind a small, glowing seed of pure white crystal.

"The cycle is broken," the spirit's final whisper echoed. "But a new world requires a new foundation. The seed is the future of the pack... choose its caretaker wisely."

Silas and Elara stood exhausted, their hands still joined. The vault was quiet now, the air fresh and clear. They had broken the curse, but they knew that the world they were returning to would never be the same.
