Chapter 84: The Aftermath of Light

The Forbidden Peaks were no longer forbidding. As Silas, Elara, and Valerius emerged from the underground passage, they were greeted not by the cold, oppressive fog, but by a sky so clear the stars looked like diamonds scattered on velvet. The magical pressure that had weighed down the world was gone, replaced by a crystalline silence.

"It's over," Valerius breathed, his eyes fixed on the horizon where the first light of dawn was beginning to break. "For the first time in ten generations, our fate is truly our own."

Silas held the small, glowing crystal seed in his palm. It was surprisingly light, pulsing with a gentle, warm energy that seemed to beat in time with his own heart. "The First Alpha said this is the foundation. But a foundation for what?"

"A new pack, Silas," Elara said, her silver mark now a faint, elegant scar—a reminder of the power she had channeled. "Not one built on ranks and fear, but on the balance we found in the vault. We aren't going back to rebuild the Silver Moon Pack. we are going back to create something better."

Their journey back to the valley was different. The forest that had once whispered threats now seemed to bow in their presence. But as they reached the edge of their territory, they saw smoke rising from the village.

Silas's protective instincts flared, his eyes turning a sharp gold. "The Council guards... some must have escaped the seal before it broke."

"Or perhaps," Valerius added grimly, "the breaking of the curse has drawn out those who preferred the darkness. The old world won't disappear without a fight, Silas."

Elara stepped forward, the crystal seed in Silas's hand glowing brighter in her presence. "Then let this be the last battle of the old world. We have the light of the ancestors with us. We don't fight for revenge anymore; we fight for the peace we've earned."

They quickened their pace, heading toward the smoke. They were exhausted, drained of magic, but for the first time, they were truly unified.
