Chapter 111 - "Redemption vs. Revenge"

Chapter 108: Redemption vs. Revenge

The clash of Silas's golden claws against Fenris's shadow-forged blade created sparks that illuminated the dark valley. Every strike was heavy with the weight of years of brotherhood and the pain of betrayal. Silas could see the hollow exhaustion in Fenris's eyes—he wasn't just a soldier; he was a soul being drained by Malphas's dark magic.

"Fenris, stop! This isn't you!" Silas roared, pinning Fenris against a jagged rock. "The Spire fell, but we survived. You don't have to be a weapon for the very man who broke us."

Fenris kicked Silas back, his voice a ragged whisper. "You survived, Silas. You found a Queen, a home, and a legacy. I found only darkness and the cold stone of a dungeon. Why should you have a new world while mine is still burning?"

Malphas watched the duel with a cruel smirk, his Dark Pulse feeding off Fenris's resentment. He raised his hand to deliver a finishing blow to both, but Elara was ready. She didn't attack Malphas; instead, she focused her silver light entirely on Fenris.

"The silver light doesn't just protect, Silas," Elara called out, her hands glowing intensely. "It heals the soul! Connect with him through the bond you once shared!"

Silas understood. He dropped his defensive stance, exposing his chest. As Fenris lunged forward, Silas didn't strike back. He grabbed Fenris's shoulders and pulled him into a fierce embrace. The golden light of the Alpha and the silver light of the Omega surged together, flowing into Fenris.

For a moment, the black mist around Fenris shivered and then shattered like glass. His grey eyes flickered, the life returning to them for a split second. Malphas shrieked in rage as his control over his greatest puppet began to slip.

"The bond of brothers is older than your darkness, Malphas!" Silas declared, his voice shaking the earth.

The tide of the battle was turning, but Malphas had one final, desperate card to play—the Moon-Oak itself began to turn black at its roots.
