The white light of the Alpha's modified blade struck the Void-King like a falling star. The impact created a shockwave that rattled the very foundations of the Iron Citadel, momentarily peeling back the layers of dark energy that had begun to drown the forge.
The Void-King let out a sound that wasn't a scream, but a hiss of cosmic annoyance. For the first time, a hairline fracture appeared on his star-metal chest plate.
"A fragment of the First Anchor," the King muttered, his voice cold enough to freeze the blood in the Alpha's veins. "You use the tools of your creators to fight the inevitable. But an anchor is only as strong as the world it holds... and your world is already rotting."
He raised a hand, and the dark oily smoke from the cracked core surged upward, forming a massive, jagged spear of pure void. Before the Alpha could recover from his lunge, the Void-King drove the spear into the floor, creating a 'Shattered Eclipse'—a zone of absolute darkness where even the Alpha's brilliant blade began to flicker and die.
"Alpha!" the Omega cried out. She could feel her life force being drained away to power the King's eclipse. "The shard... it's not enough to fight him. You have to use the resonance! The golden frequency we found... it's the only thing he can't absorb!"
But the Alpha was blinded, trapped in a void where even his own thoughts felt like they were being erased. To save the Omega, he would have to find a way to light a fire where no light could exist.
