Chapter 22 - Day 1 (end)

Everything was heading toward its end.

The flesh pillar of the Great Sin Lust was aging rapidly, with blood constantly oozing out.

After waking up, Archer looked around in confusion because the battle had already ended. She immediately saw Saber, Lancer, and Rider staring at the blinding light coming from Asmodeus's charred, unrecognizable remains.

Specifically, a large amount of QP, enhancement materials, and many other items had dropped from it.

Saber was quite unlucky — instead of a Saber Piece, it dropped Caster Piece and Rider Piece.

She didn't understand. Asmodeus didn't look like a Rider at all, so why would it drop a Rider Piece???

...Oh wait, thinking about it, it represented lust and sex. "Riding" in bed could probably count as proof that it qualified as a Rider.

Wow, just like Medb, huh?

Still, while it was unlucky, it wasn't completely bad. She personally received a 4-star Craft Essence.

"Hurry up, we need to get out of here. Everything is about to disappear," Lancer said, lifting his leg with a look of disgust as the flesh beneath his feet became sticky and slimy.

"All right! Boys! Let's sail!!!" Rider jumped onto his wooden ship, then turned to look at Saber and her Master.

"?" Saber looked at Rider in confusion while carrying the unconscious Robert in a princess carry.

"You said you wouldn't forget the debt you owe me, right?"

"Yeah, what is it?"

"Then the next time we meet, give it your all and fight me seriously!" Rider grinned and slammed his fist against his chest.

"Very well. I swear on my honor as a knight — I will fight with everything I have."

"That's the answer I wanted to hear, boys!" Rider laughed, then shouted to the monsters on his ship. They quickly moved the wooden vessel and dropped off the edge.

"Ah… I was really useless…" Archer muttered. The rewards she received were only a small amount of QP. She glanced at the other two Servants before jumping down as well.

Lancer lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and exhaled.

"Man… This alliance will eventually break apart. Even though working together was pretty fun, we'll have to fight each other someday. Hopefully not too soon."

"Lancer, even if we end up fighting, I hope you won't hold back just because we cooperated," Saber said straightforwardly.

"Yeah, I know. You really are an upright person… See you later~" Lancer stepped backward and fell freely. Only Saber and the unconscious Robert remained.

"..." Saber looked at Robert, silently making a promise to herself, then jumped down.

Right after that, the flesh pillar cracked and completely collapsed, sending chunks of meat flying all over the city.

Day 1 of the Holy Grail War… had passed successfully.

...

"So everything was for nothing? Are you kidding me?"

Cú Alter, holding Gáe Bolg covered in blood after slaughtering all the monsters and Chimera, let out an annoyed sigh.

He should have killed that Lust Sin bastard first, then dealt with the other Servants!

"Clearly your Luck isn't E-rank, so why does it seem even worse than E? Lancer Luck or Irish Luck?" A voice rang out as someone walked up beside Cú Alter.

"I'll kill you right now," Cú Alter replied threateningly. He really meant it.

"What did I even say? Besides, I've already found someone who caught my interest."

The man was wearing military-style clothing. He had a square jaw like a Chad, thick lips, and bulging muscles under his outfit.

He looked like he came straight out of Baki. Bro, did you walk into the wrong fanfic?

"Don't get in my way when I kill my enemies. Otherwise, you'll be the first one I impale," Cú Alter said like a wild dog that refused to be tamed.

...Funny thing was, if you became close to him, he turned into a tsundere. That had already been proven in the Chaldea Valentine events.

"No problem. As long as the person you kill isn't that guy, he's my prey."

Cú Alter bared his teeth in a grin.

"Hoh? Who do you want to kill?"

The man simply smiled.

"Robert Judgeson. A typical 'ally of justice' type."

"Oh… That kind, huh? Fine by me. I don't care," Cú Alter showed clear disinterest.

After all, he already had two people he hated: a red Archer and a black Archer with dual pistols.

Both of them had the same kind of mindset as Robert — one with extreme, uncompromising justice, and the other a killing machine who still had a "bit" of lingering, vague attachment to justice.

Either way, they were equally annoying.

"I hope we both survive until Day 7. I can't wait to watch that guy get destroyed by me," the man smiled, looking at the heavily damaged city.

...

"I'm sorry, Master. I couldn't do anything."

"I-It's okay, Archer! You don't have to feel guilty!"

Archer met her Master, who still hadn't fully processed everything that had just happened.

After the terrorist incident, she still hadn't calmed down, and now this something she thought only existed in games had happened in real life.

"Master, you're too kind. Time is running out. Having nothing after the first day is a huge setback."

"W-What should we do then?"

"Just trust me, Master. Next time I won't let you down!"

Archer smiled, still full of confidence.

...

"What do you think?" Lancer sat on a wooden crate, looking at his Master.

"Hmm, let's keep going like this. No need to break the alliance too early."

"Listening to your Servant's opinion is something to treasure. Not every Master is willing to do that," Lancer said as he took another drag from his cigarette.

"Because I know I have to listen to you if I want to win this Holy Grail War…"

He clenched his fist tightly, his eyes filled with dark determination.

"And I will definitely… win."

...

"How did it go, Assassin?" A handsome male student sitting on the bed looked at the Servant in front of him.

She had a slender figure, ash-colored skin, a bone mask, and violet flower-like hair.

"Everything is ready, Master."

"Woa, you work really fast," he said happily as he stood up and walked toward her.

However, she stepped back, looking away.

"…Right...your body"

"Please don't worry about it. I'm not deserve for your care," she replied. Though her tone was emotionless, a faint trace of sadness could be heard.

"..."

He smiled bitterly and looked out the window.

'I must win this war.'

It wasn't just empty words. It was something he forced upon himself.

He would help her no matter what…

...

"Great job, boys. She locked the door," Rider said to his crew of monster sailors standing outside the motel room.

Even though he had A-rank Luck, he ended up being summoned by this kind of Master.

Just how bad was she?

"Ahh… ahh! Keep going! Shoot it all inside~"

Yeah, you could hear her moaning from outside. It was clear how trashy this motel was.

And who the hell has sex at a time like this?! They almost died and she's still fucking some random guy?!

The monsters looked at Rider with worried expressions.

"It's fine, I'm okay. No matter how much I hate her, her mana supply is no joke… But I really wish my Master was Saber's Master instead… What was his name again? Robert, right?"

"Haizz, whatever. Once I have a proper fight with Saber and Robert and feel satisfied, I'll just kill myself. She doesn't deserve to be served by the future Pirate King Gan Ning Xingba!"

The monsters cheered loudly.

"That's the spirit!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, RIDER! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M BUSY DIGGING THIS GUY MONEY?!" The Master's voice rang out, forcing Rider and the monsters to stay silent.

…He really had no choice but to betray her. Even though he didn't like doing it this way, he couldn't stand staying with her.
