"Why do you suddenly want to watch a movie?" Archer asked, dressed in casual clothes and looking confused as she spoke to her Master.
They were supposed to be looking for singularity points to increase their strength, but Lily, her Master, followed a philosophy of peace and didn't want to fight at all. Having this kind of person as her Master was both a blessing and a curse.
On one hand, she would never be treated badly.
On the other, battles would be extremely difficult because this type of person was completely unsuited to being a Master.
"I want to watch a movie that my late colleague once recommended to me," Lily said with a completely calm expression.
Oh right, she's still stuck in survivor's guilt. This is bad.
"Master, the dead are already gone. Don't let the past haunt you anymore."
"I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to forget them," she replied.
The more she said things like that, the more she was just tormenting herself with the illusion of doing what she thought was best. The dead had already left, yet the living remained haunted by death and would always think of negative things.
Archer wanted to say something too, but she was quite similar to Lily in this regard. She had become a widow and suffered so much pain. Even after becoming a Servant, she still hadn't forgotten the death of the person she loved.
That was why Lily summoning Archer made perfect sense — both of them were still grieving the deaths of people they knew.
"Fine then. Let's watch it quickly and then leave. I don't have much time," Archer eventually relented, letting her Master do what she wanted.
"Thank you, Archer!"
The two of them then headed to the cinema. At the ticket counter, there was a small figure that looked very comical, with cat ears twitching nonstop. Honestly, it looked like it was drawn in an cartoon style.
"...?" Both of them stared in confusion at the creature in front of them.
"What are you looking at? Aren't you going to buy tickets?" the girl said, staring intently at them with her red eyes.
"Uh… two tickets please."
"I knew you'd say that! Do you want to buy curry-flavored butter popcorn?"
"Me!"
This time both of them turned around. It was a girl with short, deep blue hair and glasses, drooling from the corner of her mouth.
'Who is that?' both thought.
"I knew you'd say that! Do you want to buy sunglasses, a fake mustache, and a bald cap?"
"Me!!"
This time it was another girl — long black hair and blue eyes, with a very serious expression. She clearly gave off rich young lady vibes.
'Who else is this now?' they thought again.
"Oh!! I knew you'd buy it nya~ How about this instead?" The cat girl jumped over the counter, hopped over to the two girls, and whispered something to them.
The two girls thought for a moment, looked at each other, and then joined hands in cooperation.
What the hell is going on?
"Jackpot! Jackpot! Thank you for your purchase~ The movie you four chose currently only has two people watching it. I hope you won't disturb them no matter how few people there are~" The cat girl clapped her hands happily.
"Uh… yeah…" Lily and Archer looked at each other, then followed the two strangely dressed girls inside.
The theater was quite dark, and the movie hadn't started yet, but they could hear a girl teasing someone and a guy sounding embarrassed.
"Shiki, while we're waiting, why don't we do something fun?"
"No!! We came here to watch a movie??"
"Aww, what's there to be shy about? I saw a lot of couples doing stuff here last time, that's why I used watching a movie as an excuse to invite you~"
"W-What?!"
Whoa, they're really going at it.
"That stray cat who loves doing sneaky stuff…" The glasses girl sitting nearby had veins popping on her hand.
"Nii-san…" The long black-haired girl's hair suddenly turned red. She looked terrifying.
Oi oi oi, is this a harem? I thought this was supposed to be a brutal Holy Grail War?
"…Master, we should sit somewhere far away from them. For safety," Archer said rationally. Lily immediately agreed.
After the two picked their seats and sat down comfortably, Lily noticed someone sitting right next to her.
A girl in a school uniform with brown hair in twin tails was staring intensely at the glasses-wearing guy.
Another one joins the chaos??
"If you don't do it, you have to take responsibility for what happened last time!" the short blonde girl said in a coquettish voice.
"Huh? What happened last time?"
"The time you used your knife to cut me into 17 pie—"
"OH RIGHT, LET'S STOP RIGHT THERE!!"
17 pie? What?
"I support Shiki cutting her into 17 pieces one more time," the glasses girl sitting not far away said.
"I agree," the long black-haired girl chimed in.
"As expected of his little sister! Would you mind calling me sister-in-law?" the other girl said innocently.
"Get lost, Curry."
"Do you have a problem with curry?"
"I don't, but I don't want my brother to smell like that when we bath— I mean, when he talks to me," she said.
How did we get to the smell of gunpowder?
"I wish he would notice me… even if he dismembers me into 17 pieces…" the girl next to Lily muttered.
Girl, what the hell are you saying? That's terrifying???
"…Master, maybe we should leave. This place doesn't feel safe," Archer whispered to Lily.
"But…"
Suddenly two more people appeared, startling both of them.
"Oh? Shirou-kun!" Shiki happily greeted the two familiar faces.
"Shiki-san? You're watching this movie too?" The red-haired guy with golden-brown eyes was with a blonde girl radiating the aura of a king. She was wearing a Burger King crown and munching on something.
"Sit here, sit here!" Shiki patted the seat next to him.
When Shirou moved to sit down, he noticed the girl next to Shiki staring intensely at him.
"…Shiki, I think I'll sit somewhere else?"
"Huh? Why?"
"You should enjoy time with your girlfriend, right? Let's go, Saber!" Shirou smiled while sweating profusely and quickly pulled Saber to another spot.
"Why is he acting so weird?" Shiki asked in confusion as he watched Shirou and Saber sit elsewhere.
Funny enough, Shiki and Shirou weren't supposed to get along well, but the two actually had a pretty good relationship — much better than what that mushroom (Nasu) said.
"Just ignore him, Shiki~"
On the red-haired guy's side, as soon as he sat down with Saber, she turned to him and said calmly:
"Shirou."
"Hm? What is it, Saber?"
"I smell curry!"
"…You already ate five plates of curry at the Indian restaurant."
"A knight should never fight on an empty stomach!"
"Who exactly are you planning to fight??"
"You." Saber looked at him, pointing downward at his pants.
"..."
Holy shit, Saber, who taught you to be so bold all of a sudden?? (Flower Magician: No thanks needed)
"Things are getting more and more unstable…" Archer looked at the two of them, feeling like they would cause just as much trouble as the glasses guy.
"Senpai…"
"?!!" Archer jumped in surprise and looked to the side, seeing a purple-haired girl staring intently at the red-haired guy.
What the hell is this now???
"Three-timing, I'll admit you've gotten really bold lately," a black-haired girl with twin tails and sunglasses said through gritted teeth as she glared at the red-haired guy.
Who else is this now???
The atmosphere in the theater became incredibly heavy. Both Archer and Lily felt more suffocated than ever.
How are we supposed to watch the movie like this??
Beep!
"Oh, the movie's starting!" The girl next to Shiki pointed at the screen.
The screen began counting down from 5 seconds, then displayed the movie title:
Lancer ga Shinda! The Journey of Lancer and Anything Bullshit That Happens to Him.
…I have a feeling this is going to be a masterpiece, as long as these girls stop emitting killing intent nonstop.
