I pulled my hand away from my mother, "You've got the wrong person."
"I made you. I may not know all the immoral nonsense you're getting up to but I know you."
I turned away from her and tried to covertly send an SOS to my group chat with Kay and Xavier. My mother reached around me and snatched my phone from my hand. I whipped around to face her.
"Oh that's got your attention!" She looked down at my phone, "Calling your little homo friends?" She clicked her tongue, "I knew Xavier was corrupting you."
"Don't talk about him like that!" I snapped. I reached out for my phone but she was faster. She took several quick steps backwards and held my phone up over her head.
"You can have it back. Only if you promise to come home with me."
I swallowed shakily. I wasn't done paying that phone off. It'd be a hassle to go through the paperwork to report it missing. Even if I did I'd still be responsible for the remaining payments.
