Chapter 10 - RESONANCE WEAPON

Harry had been informed beforehand about the retest. He was actually expecting it. He knew the school would investigate the duels and eventually notice the anomaly during his fight.

He arrived at school exactly at 9 a.m. and headed toward the main hall.

A teacher approached him and said, "Harry, follow me."

Harry nodded and followed him through the hall until they reached a closed weapons chamber. When the door opened, Harry stepped into a large room filled with different weapons.

His eyes immediately brightened.

There were swords, spears, daggers, axes, and many others displayed neatly across the room. These were real weapons, not the wooden ones used during friendly duels.

Harry began looking at them carefully.

The teacher noticed his excitement. Instead of being annoyed, he actually felt pleased seeing a non-Aetherbound so interested in weapons.

After watching Harry for a moment, the teacher asked,

"Do you want to join the army or the police force someday?"

Harry was taken aback by the sudden question. He thought about it for a moment before replying.

"I don't know… I just find them interesting. It feels like each weapon has its own story when I see them being used."

The teacher smiled.

"You have a good way of seeing the world, Harry. Keep it up. Don't change that."

Hearing the compliment, Harry simply nodded. He was never very expressive and usually kept a neutral expression.

The teacher then said, "You can look at the weapons, but don't pick them up. The supervisor will arrive soon to conduct your retest."

Harry nodded again.

The teacher left the room.

Harry stood there for a moment, feeling overwhelmed.

He never expected to receive this much attention. For a brief moment, he even felt like the main character in a movie.

He slowly walked around the room, examining the weapons. They were all high quality, far beyond anything he had ever seen before.

As he moved from one display to another, something suddenly caught his attention.

A longsword.

It looked different from the others. There was a rune engraved near the hilt, and the metal had a strange shine.

Curious, Harry stepped closer.

When he lightly touched the rune, it glowed faintly.

Just as he was about to inspect it further, a voice spoke behind him.

"Did you like the weapon?"

Harry turned around.

Standing there was Supervisor Daniel Clark, the person assigned to conduct his retest.

"Yes, very much," Harry replied. "Is this weapon special?"

Supervisor Clark smiled gently.

"Yes. It's a Resonance Weapon."

Harry had never heard that term before.

"What is that?" he asked.

Supervisor Clark replied calmly.

"These types of weapons are special. They are primarily used by non-Aetherbound fighters."

The moment Harry heard that, his eyes lit up.

Supervisor Clark continued.

"The rune you see is a resonance core. It can store fragments of magic energy. If timed correctly, it can absorb a portion of an opponent's magical attack."

Harry looked surprised.

"So it can even absorb attacks from Aetherbound?"

"Yes," Clark replied. "Which makes it a good counter against them."

Harry thought for a moment before asking another question.

"Then how do you even win against it?"

Supervisor Clark gave a warm smile.

"It can't store physical attacks. And don't forget, many Aetherbound also use weapons. Also, the timing must be perfect. If the user fails to absorb the magic properly, the rune can become unstable… and even explode."

Harry went silent, thinking deeply about what he had just heard.

Seeing this, Supervisor Clark added reassuringly,

"Don't worry. These weapons are only used by elite non-Aetherbound fighters. This one is the only resonance weapon we have here, and it's mainly used to teach students about the concept."

Harry felt satisfied after hearing the explanation. He looked at the sword one last time before turning toward the supervisor.

"Thank you for explaining it to me."

Supervisor Clark nodded.

"Now, Harry… prepare yourself."

"It's time for your retest."
