Chapter 3: The Truth He Forced Me to Hide

(Keifer's POV)

The silence in Angelo's house felt suffocating.

Yuri had just walked in like a storm, and the tension between us hadn't faded even after my call from London ended.

Angelo looked confused.

I looked irritated.

But Yuri…

Yuri looked dangerous.

He stood near the door, his hands inside his jacket pockets, staring directly at me like he was waiting for something.

Then he finally spoke.

"Tell me something, Keifer."

His voice was calm.

Too calm.

"Did you tell Jay the truth?"

My brows furrowed.

"The truth about what?"

For a second, Angelo looked between us, clearly confused.

But Yuri didn't look away from me.

"The truth," he repeated slowly, "about what really happened."

Now I understood what he meant.

My jaw tightened.

"You mean the truth that you planned everything?"

Angelo's head snapped toward Yuri.

"Wait… what?"

Yuri's eyes darkened instantly.

I stepped forward.

"You're the one who told Jay that I used her," I said coldly.

"You're the one who made her believe I was playing with her feelings."

Angelo looked shocked.

"Yuri… is that true?"

Yuri didn't answer him.

His attention stayed on me.

"Did you tell her?" he asked again.

I let out a bitter laugh.

"No."

His shoulders relaxed slightly.

But the anger inside me was boiling now.

"But maybe I should."

The temperature in the room instantly dropped.

Angelo looked between us again.

"What the hell is going on?"

I looked straight at Yuri.

"Ask him."

Angelo frowned at Yuri.

"Explain."

But Yuri stepped closer to me before Angelo could say anything else.

His eyes were sharp.

Warning me.

"Don't," he said quietly.

My fists clenched.

"You ruined everything between me and Jay," I snapped. "You made her think I was using her!"

"And whose fault is that?" Yuri shot back.

Angelo stepped between us.

"Okay, both of you calm down—"

But Yuri's voice suddenly turned cold.

"Listen carefully, Keifer."

The way he said it made my chest tighten.

"If you ever tell Jay that it was my plan…"

His words slowed.

"…that I was the one who made her believe you used her…"

He leaned closer.

"…I will kill you."

Angelo froze.

"YURI!"

But Yuri didn't even glance at him.

His eyes were locked on mine.

Dead serious.

"This stays between us," he said.

My heart was pounding now.

"You're insane," I muttered.

"You think threatening me will fix what you did?"

Yuri's expression didn't change.

"No."

"It will protect her."

Angelo looked completely lost now.

"Protect her from what?"

But Yuri ignored the question.

Instead, he said something that made my stomach twist.

"Jay is finally moving on."

His voice was firm.

"She's focusing on her future."

"She's studying in New York."

"And for the first time in months…"

"…she's not crying because of you."

The words hit harder than I expected.

Because deep down…

I knew he wasn't lying about that part.

Yuri continued.

"So if you suddenly show up and tell her that everything was my fault…"

"…what do you think will happen?"

I stayed silent.

He answered his own question.

"You'll destroy her again."

Angelo rubbed his temples.

"This is insane…"

Yuri straightened.

"So here's how things are going to be."

He pointed at me.

"You go to London."

"You take your inheritance."

"You live your billionaire life."

"And you stay away from Jay."

My jaw tightened.

"And if I don't?"

Yuri's eyes turned ice cold.

"Then I'll make sure you regret it."

The room fell silent again.

The tension was unbearable.

Angelo looked like he wanted to scream.

But Yuri had already decided.

Before leaving, he said one last thing.

"If Jay finds out I planned everything…"

"…I swear, Keifer."

His voice dropped to a deadly whisper.

"You won't live long enough to explain it."

Then he turned around and walked out of the house.

The door slammed shut.

Angelo looked at me in disbelief.

"Please tell me I misunderstood all of that."

I leaned back against the couch, running a hand through my hair.

"No."

My voice felt heavy.

"You heard it right."

Angelo stared at the door Yuri had just walked through.

"That guy has completely lost his mind."

But I wasn't even thinking about Yuri anymore.

My thoughts were somewhere else.

New York.

Jay.

She believed I used her.

She believed I broke her on purpose.

And the one person who could fix that truth…

Was me.

But now the truth came with a price.

Because if I told her…

It wouldn't just destroy Yuri.

It might destroy her too.

And for the first time in my life…

I didn't know which choice was worse.
