Since Kozuki Toki had already come to trust him, Reno didn't hold back and immediately told her, "I've informed Edward Newgate about the situation in Wano Country. Right now, Whitebeard's crew is just outside Wano. Whether Wano can be saved depends on Whitebeard, not on me, a little kid!"
Hearing that Whitebeard's crew was so close to Wano, Toki was greatly shocked, though she didn't show it. After lowering her head to calm herself, she raised it again and asked, "What's your relationship with Whitebeard? And why would he trust your words and come to Wano?"
"Also, how do you know what's going to happen in Wano's future?"
Toki had been curious for a while. Reno was only five years old, had never been to Wano before, yet he seemed to know everything. How was that possible?
Reno, hearing Toki's series of questions, felt his head spin, but he patiently explained, "I don't have any special relationship with Whitebeard. I'm just temporarily staying on his ship."
"As for why he trusts me, it's because he's already verified what I said."
"As for your last question, I can't answer that. You just need to know that Whitebeard believes me because he understands how I know these things."
Toki listened, but in the end, it felt like he hadn't explained anything at all. She rolled her eyes and said irritably, "Your explanation is worse than no explanation!"
Reno awkwardly scratched his nose. It wasn't that he didn't want to explain, but when it came to the future, the fewer people who knew, the better. He hadn't even wanted to mention Whitebeard in the first place.
However, if he said nothing, Whitebeard might never come to Wano, so he told Toki anyway.
As for Toki herself, Reno didn't know much. The story only gave a brief introduction, and she seemed mysterious. He didn't want to reveal too much to someone like her.
Seeing that Reno wouldn't answer, Toki stopped pressing and changed the topic. "You've only known Kozuki Oden for half a month. Why go through all this trouble to help Wano?"
This was exactly what Reno had been waiting for. He immediately put on a fake angry expression and said, "If it weren't for my future little wife, who would bother saving that big fool who got tricked by the enemy and still helps them count the money?"
Toki wasn't angry at all when she heard him insult Oden. If anything, she almost wanted to laugh. Maybe it was because Reno acted like such a little adult.
When she heard him mention his future wife, her curiosity was instantly piqued. "Reno, who exactly is this future little wife of yours?"
Instead of answering, Reno floated over to Kozuki Hiyori and said with a confident smile, "Hiyori, hello. I'm Afaku Reno, your future husband. Remember my name!"
Hiyori looked at him in confusion and asked, "What's a husband?"
Reno patiently explained, "A husband is like your father and mother's relationship. You'll marry me in the future, so I'll be your husband!"
It wasn't clear whether Hiyori truly understood or was just pretending, but she nodded and asked, "Will my husband give me lots of tasty food and fun things?"
Reno was overjoyed hearing her call him "husband." He puffed out his chest proudly. "Of course! That's easy! In the future, I'll take you around the world, let you taste all kinds of delicious food, and give you the happiest life!"
"Really?"
Hiyori's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Of course it's true!"
Reno moved closer, enthusiastically describing the outside world, all its wonders and treasures, each word tempting her more than the last. He almost said, "Let's leave right now!"
Toki watched the entire exchange with a calm face. When she snapped out of it, the two were already discussing future travels.
She thought to herself, So this brat's future wife is my daughter, Hiyori. But how does he know she'll marry him?
She began to speculate. He must have the ability to see the future, or knows someone who can.
As a user of the Time-Time Fruit, Toki immediately thought in terms of Devil Fruit abilities. She concluded that Reno either had future-seeing powers or was connected to someone who did.
Although she was wrong, she wasn't far off. Reno did know the future, just not through any ability. He simply knew the original storyline.
Thinking about this, Toki looked at Reno again.
For the sake of his future wife, he came all the way to Wano to help. With such a caring husband, Hiyori should be very happy in the future.
After reaching this conclusion, Toki no longer stopped Reno from getting close to Hiyori.
After all, if her daughter's future husband cared this much, why should she interfere?
What Toki didn't know was that while Wano's situation was indeed serious, Reno's "future wife" claim was completely made up.
But as long as Reno didn't expose himself, no one would know.
Thus, Reno unknowingly gained Toki's support.
Meanwhile, Reno continued happily chatting with Hiyori, describing the beautiful world outside.
Soon enough, she would want to follow him on her own.
Heh.
