{Shadows and Confessions}
Tyla's heart was still racing as she returned to the guest room.
"What's wrong, Tyla?
Why do you look so embarrassed?"
her mother asked, settling onto the bed with a mischievous smile.
Tyla bit her lip, her cheeks burning.
"I... I saw him... completely... um... naked," she admitted in a whisper.
Her mother chuckled loudly, shaking her head.
"Oh my girl... did you get scared? And honestly, I'd be embarrassed too if I were in your shoes."
Tyla groaned softly and hid her face in the pillow.
"It's just... awkward."
Her mother laughed again and said, trying to joke with her,
"Awkward or... hot?"
Tyla didn't answer,
only pressing her face tighter into the pillow.
Later, the guest room was quiet.
Tyla and her mother lay under soft blankets,
the dim lights casting shadows across the room.
In the distance,
through the massive glass windows of the black mansion,
the city lights sparkled like tiny stars,
completely unaware of the danger lurking in their lives.
Meanwhile,
in his own luxurious black room,
Ian sat on the edge of his bed,
staring at the phone in his hand. The screen lit up with a call from seo jun.
Seo Jun :
"I found him.
The one who caused the fire... he's back.
And he knows about her.
He saw you too talking together many times.
He's targeting you... and now Tyla too."
"Got it,"
Ian said before ending the call.
Ian's heart froze.
His old enemy...
the same person who had once tried to destroy everything he cared about... was back.
And now Tyla was involved.
He clenched his jaw,
a cold tension running down his spine.
A few hours later,
Tyla, feeling thirsty,
quietly stepped out of the guest room to get some water.
She didn't expect to see anyone awake, but at the kitchen doorway, she paused.
Ian stood by the enormous window in the kitchen,
his silhouette outlined against the city lights, staring out at the sprawling skyline.
The faint moonlight glinted off the black marble and glass of the mansion, making him look almost untouchable.
Tyla's curiosity won over her caution.
"Ian... why aren't you sleeping? Are you... okay?"
she asked softly, her voice carrying in the quiet kitchen.
He turned slightly, his expression unreadable.
"I'm fine," he said quietly,
but his voice didn't carry the conviction she hoped for.
She stepped closer,
tilting her head as she studied him.
"Come on... tell me.
Something's bothering you,
isn't it?"
The room was bathed in soft,
romantic shadows,
the city lights flickering across their faces. She looked impossibly beautiful.
The oversized white shirt she wore fell perfectly over her frame,
her hair slightly tousled,
her bare legs catching the faint glow.
She seemed warm,
alive... almost cute.
Ian swallowed hard.
He shook his head,
trying to push the thought away.
"No... it's nothing,"
he said
, though even he could feel the lie in his voice.
Tyla stepped closer,
persistence in her eyes.
"Ian... please.
Tell me.
You don't have to hide it from me you know I'm also in this situation."
His gaze locked onto hers,
and for a moment,
the danger,
the city,
the mansion-everything-faded.
But then reality struck again.
He had to protect her.
He had to be strong.
"The danger... it's real,"
he finally said, his voice low, almost a whisper.
"It's not just me anymore... now it's you too.
Because they saw you with me many times.
They think you're my girlfriend or something.
today they were targeting me but .. what next i don't know That's the reason for what happened tonight... they'll come after you."
Tyla's eyes widened.
"They... they'll really hurt me?
Because of you?"
He nodded slowly, his expression hardening.
"Yes... because of me.
Because of us. This... this isn't just about me anymore.
I should have warned you.
I tried to stay away,
but somehow we kept meeting by accident.
They don't care about the other girls or the other people I meet... but they care about you.
They don't know you, so they think you're mine."
She took a step back, a mix of fear and shock in her eyes.
"I... I didn't think it would be this serious... I mean... they are just a sasaeng?"
Ian didn't answer immediately.
He just looked at her.
Really looked at her.
His mind raced, not knowing what to say. He couldn't push her away now.
They already knew about her,
and he couldn't leave her alone in this dangerous world.
"And yet... here you
are... in my world," he finally said, his voice low, almost trembling.
"I don't know what to do. I never wanted anyone to be part of it with me, Tyla."
Tyla shivered slightly, both from his words and the situation.
"What will we do? I mean... can we return to our home?"
She hesitated.
"I... I don't want to be afraid... but what will you do now?"
He looked at her with determined eyes.
"I will protect you and your mother.
You are not to blame for any of this. I will try everything to fix it."
He said it very seriously.
Then he looked at her again.
"You need to go back to bed," he said finally, keeping his tone firm.
"It's late... and tomorrow we'll deal with this. Together.
Don't worry. I'm here."
She hesitated,
then nodded slowly.
"Okay... but I'm still scared."
"As long as I'm here,
don't worry, Tyla," he said softly.
She nodded.
"Thanks... but promise me we won't get hurt.
That sasaeng is crazy."
He gave a short nod.
"I promise... Tyla."
She turned and quietly slipped back to the guest room,
unaware of the storm brewing outside... and the storm brewing inside him.
And as Ian watched her disappear into the shadows,
he knew one thing:
The night had only just begun.
