The wind moved slowly through Emerald Valley, carrying a strange coldness that did not belong to nature. The green glow of the valley was still beautiful, but now it felt disturbed, like a peaceful place that had been touched by darkness. Arin stood firmly on the rocky ground, staring at the dark figure standing on the high stone.
The man's red eyes glowed like burning fire in the night.
Mira stepped closer to Arin and whispered, "Be careful. His energy feels different… stronger than the Shadow Soldiers."
The traveler slowly raised his staff, his face serious and focused.
"Yes," he said quietly. "This is no ordinary enemy. This is a Dark Follower — one of the elite servants of the Shadow Lord."
The dark figure smiled and slowly jumped down from the rock, landing softly on the ground like a shadow touching the earth.
"You understand well, old traveler," he said in a deep voice. "I am Zorath, chosen servant of the Shadow Lord, and I have come for the Master Emerald."
Arin stepped forward, placing himself between Zorath and the Master Emerald.
"You will not touch it."
Zorath laughed softly.
"Guardian… you speak with confidence, but you do not understand the power you are facing."
The air suddenly became heavy.
Dark energy began to spread slowly across the ground like black smoke. The plants around them started to wither, and the green glow of Emerald Valley weakened slightly.
Mira clenched her fists.
"He's corrupting the valley itself."
The traveler nodded.
"Yes. If this continues, Emerald Valley will fall into darkness."
Arin's eyes glowed green.
"Then we stop him now."
Zorath raised his hand slowly.
"Let us see if you truly deserve to be called Guardian."
Suddenly, dark chains shot out from his hand and rushed toward Arin.
Arin reacted quickly.
"Emerald Shield!"
Green energy formed in front of him, blocking the chains. The chains hit the shield with a loud metallic crash.
CLANG!
The force pushed Arin backward slightly.
Zorath smirked.
"Not bad."
Then he disappeared.
Mira gasped.
"He's gone!"
Suddenly, Zorath appeared behind Arin and swung his dark blade.
"Too slow."
CLASH!
Arin turned quickly and blocked the attack with emerald energy around his arm. Sparks of green and black energy exploded into the air.
The force was powerful.
Arin struggled to hold his ground.
Zorath pushed harder.
"Is this the strength of the Guardian?"
Arin gritted his teeth.
"No… this is only the beginning!"
He released a burst of emerald energy and pushed Zorath backward.
BOOM!
Zorath slid across the ground but landed smoothly.
Mira jumped forward and threw three energy orbs.
"Take this!"
The orbs flew toward Zorath at high speed.
Zorath raised his hand and crushed them with dark energy before they reached him.
The explosions shook the ground.
"You are brave," Zorath said, looking at Mira. "But bravery is not enough."
The traveler stepped forward and struck the ground with his staff.
"Light Prison!"
Bright chains of light rose from the ground and wrapped around Zorath's body, trapping him.
Zorath struggled slightly but did not panic.
"Interesting magic," he said calmly.
Arin raised his hand.
"Now!"
He gathered emerald energy into his palm.
Green lightning surrounded him.
"Emerald Burst!"
A powerful beam of green energy shot toward Zorath.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The explosion shook Emerald Valley, sending dust and rocks into the air.
Mira covered her face from the dust.
When the smoke cleared, the light chains were broken.
Zorath stood there, slightly injured but still smiling.
"You are stronger than I expected, Guardian."
Arin's eyes widened.
"He survived that…"
Zorath wiped a small drop of dark blood from his mouth.
"But now… my turn."
He raised both hands.
The sky suddenly turned dark.
Black clouds gathered above Emerald Valley.
A massive vortex of shadow formed in the air, spinning violently.
The ground began to crack.
The Master Emerald started glowing rapidly, reacting to the dark energy.
Arin felt pain in his chest.
"It's reacting… the Emerald is resisting him."
Zorath laughed loudly.
"Yes! Let it react! The Master Emerald's power will soon belong to the Shadow Lord!"
The vortex grew larger and began pulling everything toward it.
Trees bent.
Rocks lifted.
Even the air felt like it was being dragged.
Mira struggled to stand.
"We can't hold this!"
The traveler shouted, "Arin! You must connect with the Emerald fully!"
Arin closed his eyes.
He took a deep breath.
He felt the Master Emerald's heartbeat.
Slow.
Strong.
Steady.
"I understand…"
Green energy surrounded his body completely.
The Master Emerald floated higher and shined brighter than ever before.
Arin opened his glowing green eyes.
"The Emerald protects the world… not darkness."
He raised both hands.
"EMERALD GUARDIAN FORM!"
A massive explosion of green light burst from his body.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The vortex stopped moving.
Zorath stepped back in shock.
"What?!"
Arin floated slightly above the ground, surrounded by pure emerald energy.
"This ends now."
He pointed his hand toward Zorath.
"Guardian Strike!"
A powerful beam of pure emerald light shot forward and destroyed the shadow vortex instantly.
The beam struck Zorath directly.
BOOOOOOOM!!!
The explosion shook the entire valley.
Zorath screamed in pain as his body began turning into shadow.
"This is not over, Guardian!" he shouted.
His body slowly disappeared into black smoke.
"The Shadow Lord will rise… and you will fall!"
Then he vanished completely.
Silence filled Emerald Valley.
The sky slowly returned to normal.
The green glow returned.
Arin dropped to his knees, breathing heavily.
The Master Emerald floated gently behind him.
Mira ran to him.
"Arin! Are you okay?"
He nodded slowly.
"Yes… I'm fine."
The traveler looked at the sky.
"You have grown stronger. But this was only a Dark Follower."
Arin stood slowly.
"Then the Shadow Lord must be far more dangerous."
The traveler nodded.
"Yes. And now he knows your strength."
Arin looked at the Master Emerald.
"Then I will become even stronger."
Mira smiled.
"We will face him together."
The Master Emerald glowed softly, as if agreeing.
The war had truly begun.
