Chapter 20 - Training In Emerald Valley

The morning sun slowly rose above Emerald Valley, spreading golden light across the mountains and forests. The air was calm and peaceful, as if the valley itself was healing after the intense battle with Zorath. Birds flew gently across the sky, and the trees glowed softly with green energy. For the first time since their arrival, the land felt safe again.

Arin stood near a small river at the center of the valley, staring at his reflection in the water. His eyes looked tired, but inside them burned a quiet determination. The Master Emerald floated behind him, shining softly like a silent guardian.

He clenched his fist slowly.

"I need to become stronger," he whispered.

The sound of footsteps approached from behind.

It was the traveler.

"You are thinking about the Shadow Lord," the traveler said calmly.

Arin nodded.

"Yes. Zorath was only a follower, but he was already very strong. If the Shadow Lord comes himself, I don't know if I can stop him."

The traveler stood beside him and looked at the river.

"That is why you must train," he said. "Being the Guardian is not just about power. It is about control, balance, and understanding the Master Emerald."

Mira walked toward them, carrying two small bags of fruit.

"Training already?" she said with a small smile. "At least eat something first."

Arin smiled slightly and took one of the fruits.

"Thanks."

They sat near the river for a few minutes in silence, enjoying the peaceful moment. But deep inside, Arin knew peace would not last long.

After eating, the traveler stood up and pointed toward the center of the valley.

"Come with me."

They followed him through a narrow path between glowing trees until they reached a large open area surrounded by ancient stone pillars. At the center of the area was a circular platform covered with strange symbols.

Arin looked around.

"What is this place?"

The traveler stepped onto the platform.

"This is the Guardian Training Ground. Long ago, Guardians trained here to master the power of the Master Emerald."

Mira's eyes widened.

"So this is where Arin will train?"

The traveler nodded.

"Yes. Here, the Emerald's energy is strongest. It will help him unlock new abilities."

Arin stepped onto the platform.

As soon as he did, the symbols on the ground began to glow.

The Master Emerald reacted immediately, floating higher in the air and shining brighter.

Arin felt energy flowing through his body.

It was strong.

But also heavy.

The traveler raised his staff.

"Focus your mind," he said. "Do not fight the Emerald's power. Listen to it."

Arin closed his eyes.

He felt the wind.

The earth.

The energy of the valley.

And the heartbeat of the Master Emerald.

Slow.

Powerful.

Alive.

Suddenly, a bright green light surrounded him.

The ground shook slightly.

Mira stepped back.

"Is this part of the training?"

The traveler nodded calmly.

"Yes. The Emerald is testing him."

Inside the light, Arin felt like he was floating in endless space.

A deep voice echoed in his mind.

Guardian… prove your strength…

Suddenly, dark figures appeared around him.

Shadow warriors.

Ten of them.

They rushed toward him at once.

Arin opened his glowing eyes.

"Then come."

He rushed forward and punched the first warrior, destroying it instantly.

The second attacked from behind.

Arin turned and kicked it away.

BOOM!

More shadows surrounded him.

He jumped into the air and released emerald energy.

"Emerald Wave!"

Green energy spread across the ground and destroyed several shadows.

But more appeared.

Stronger ones.

One of them grabbed his arm.

Another struck his back.

Arin fell to one knee.

The voice echoed again.

Strength alone is not enough…

Arin breathed heavily.

Then he remembered the traveler's words.

Control. Balance. Understanding.

He closed his eyes again.

The Master Emerald's energy flowed gently through him.

Calm.

Steady.

He stood up slowly.

Green light surrounded him.

This time, he did not rush.

He moved calmly.

Each movement was smooth and controlled.

He blocked attacks easily.

Dodged shadows.

And struck them with precise emerald energy.

One by one, the shadows disappeared.

Finally, the last shadow attacked with a massive sword.

Arin raised his hand.

"Emerald Shield."

The sword broke against the shield.

Then Arin released a focused strike.

"Guardian Strike."

The last shadow disappeared.

Silence returned.

The green light faded.

Arin opened his eyes and found himself back on the training platform.

Mira ran toward him.

"That was amazing!"

Arin smiled slightly.

"I feel different… stronger… calmer."

The traveler nodded.

"You have taken your first step as a true Guardian."

The Master Emerald floated gently above him, glowing with approval.

Suddenly, the sky darkened slightly.

The traveler looked up.

"That is not good."

Arin turned.

"What is it?"

The traveler pointed toward the distant mountains.

Dark smoke was rising into the sky.

"Shadow forces are moving again," he said.

Mira frowned.

"So soon?"

The traveler nodded.

"Yes. The Shadow Lord is preparing something big."

Arin looked at the Master Emerald and clenched his fists.

"Then we must prepare too."

The Master Emerald glowed brightly, as if agreeing with him.

The training had only begun.

But the next battle was already coming.

And this time, the enemy would be stronger than ever.
