Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Kotoamatsukami

After the incident with Sasuke, Mitsusuke no longer felt like sleeping. He decided to go see Naruto; he hadn't seen the kid in days.

If Naruto wasn't causing trouble, his personality was quite endearing.

Arriving at the river outside the Village, Mitsusuke saw Anbu Personnel squeezing Naruto's stomach, causing Naruto to spray water like a whale.

Walking up to the two, Mitsusuke kicked Naruto: "Does the water taste good?"

Naruto, who had been closing his eyes, immediately opened them upon hearing Mitsusuke's voice, his eyes filled with tears.

Sitting up, Naruto hugged Mitsusuke's leg: "Mitsusuke-sensei, woo woo woo, I want to go back to school. I don't want to drink any more water, I really can't drink any more."

Mitsusuke had known Naruto for over a year, and this was the first time he'd seen the guy cry; it was quite interesting.

The Anbu Personnel beside him spread his hands at Mitsusuke: "It has nothing to do with me. I originally told him to practice in the shallow water, but this guy insisted on practicing in the deep water."

"I have to save him four or five times a day now, and I've drunk plenty of water too. If it's not working, why don't you let him go back to school! There's no rush with Substitution Jutsu; they're still a long way from graduation anyway!"

Grabbing Naruto by the collar, Mitsusuke lifted him up: "Stop wailing! Today's training ends here! I'll treat you to Ichiraku Ramen."

Upon hearing Ichiraku Ramen, Naruto's legs no longer hurt, his back no longer ached, and he could climb five floors in one breath without even panting...

Ahem, sorry, wrong channel. Naruto happily followed Mitsusuke back to the Village, completely shedding his previous half-dead state.

At Ichiraku Ramen, Mitsusuke ordered a bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen, and Naruto ordered a bowl of Miso Ramen.

While waiting for the ramen, Mitsusuke asked Naruto: "Naruto, do you have any dreams?"

Naruto, who was waiting for his ramen, heard Mitsusuke-sensei's words and became as excited as if he'd been given a shot of adrenaline, leaping onto the stool: "Of course! It's to become Hokage and gain everyone's recognition!"

Mitsusuke quickly pressed Naruto back down: "Alright, I get it, no need to be so excited."

"Since you want to be Hokage, do you truly understand the responsibilities of a Hokage? Being Hokage isn't just about gaining everyone's recognition; it also means taking on the duty of protecting everyone. When the Village faces a crisis, the Hokage might be the first to die in battle. Are you truly prepared for that?"

After Mitsusuke's explanation, Naruto lowered his head, seemingly deep in thought.

A moment later, he turned his head to Mitsusuke-sensei, revealing a big smile: "Of course! As the Hokage, I will definitely protect everyone!"

Mitsusuke ruffled Naruto's hair, very satisfied. The motivational talk was as effective as ever: "Very good, then keep working hard! Tomorrow, continue practicing Water Walking, and aim to learn Substitution Jutsu within a month."

"After all, all previous Hokage were very proficient in the Three Basic Jutsu, and our future Hokage can't fall behind. Eat more today, and keep up the good work tomorrow!"

"Then I want three bowls, no... four bowls!"

After finishing his ramen, Naruto, full of energy, went to practice Tree Climbing.

Mitsusuke looked at the dozen empty bowls on the table, then felt his wallet, thinking the price of today's motivational talk was a bit too high.

Finally, Mitsusuke thought of a good idea: he would have Uncle Ichiraku send the bill to the Hokage Office, claiming Naruto ate it all.

Leaving Ichiraku Ramen, Mitsusuke gave himself a thumbs-up for his cleverness.

As for whether Hiruzen Sarutobi would be happy or not, that had nothing to do with him.

Upon returning home, Mitsusuke saw Shisui sitting on the sofa, lost in thought, sighing occasionally.

"What's on our Uchiha heartthrob's mind? Did you get a lot of love letters again today? Are you troubled about which female teacher to date?"

Shisui stood up and came before Mitsusuke, his expression very serious: "Kai, I need to tell you something, something very important. Please help me come up with an idea."

Shisui had been serious before, but it was completely different from today, which made Mitsusuke drop his idea of continuing to tease Shisui: "Sit down and talk! First, let me state that if it's still about the Uchiha, don't bother. I've told you all the methods I can think of; I have no other solutions."

"It's not about the Uchiha; it's about me." As he spoke, Shisui's Sharingan spun wildly, quickly transforming from a Three-Tomoe Sharingan into the shape of a large pinwheel.

"That's it?"

Mitsusuke wondered what it was about! It turned out to be the Mangekyo Sharingan. Itachi had already awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan, so he guessed Shisui had awakened his long ago, he just hadn't asked!

Sitting on the sofa, Mitsusuke lit a cigarette for himself, not even looking at Shisui's Sharingan.

Shisui's eyes were now wide with surprise. This was his Mangekyo Sharingan! Mitsusuke actually looked completely unconcerned.

But soon, Shisui understood. Mitsusuke wasn't from the Uchiha Clan, so it was normal for him not to understand the Sharingan.

Just as Shisui was about to explain the Mangekyo Sharingan's abilities to Mitsusuke, he heard Mitsusuke say: "The Mangekyo Sharingan, a unique ocular jutsu of the Uchiha Clan, is a very powerful ability."

"Because the Sharingan is a true reflection of one's inner heart, I speculate your ability is a genjutsu, most likely a genjutsu that changes others' thoughts."

"Your obsession is to improve the relationship between the Uchiha and the Village, so it's very likely you gained the ability to change others' thoughts. Am I right?"

A few words escaped, directly shocking Shisui, who gaped at Mitsusuke in disbelief.

Seeing Shisui's expression, Mitsusuke was secretly delighted. This was the first time he'd seen Shisui like this.

As a transmigrator, he naturally knew Shisui's Mangekyo ability: the Kotoamatsukami, hailed as the strongest genjutsu.

About ten minutes later, Shisui finally recovered. Actually, he couldn't be blamed for this; he had never told anyone about awakening Kotoamatsukami.

This time, he had come up with a plan and wanted to discuss it with Mitsusuke, but before he could even speak, it was guessed!

Shisui sat opposite Mitsusuke, his face regaining its composure: "Kai, I'm truly glad we're friends now. If we were enemies, I feel you could scheme an enemy to death even without fighting."

"You guessed correctly. My Mangekyo ability is called Kotoamatsukami, an ocular jutsu that can change others' thoughts."

"I want to use my ability to change the elders' thoughts about the coup. Do you think this method will work? This is what I wanted to talk to you about."

"Heh!" Mitsusuke let out a cold laugh: "Kotoamatsukami, is it really that strong? The number of Uchiha planning the coup is almost half of the entire Uchiha population, can you change all of them?"

"Or do you think changing one elder's thoughts can resolve the conflict between the Uchiha and the Village?"

"Shisui, wake up! Don't be naive. The root cause of the conflict between the Uchiha and the Village isn't with the Uchiha at all."
