Chapter 17 - The Free Guild of the Atlas

The wreckage of the Association's command-ship lay half-buried in the sand, smoke rising like a black pillar into the orange sunset. Jin stood atop a high dune, breathing in the dry desert air. In his hand, Marcus Thorne's gold-plated rank badge was flickering—its data was being slowly erased by the desert's raw atmosphere.

Yassine and the other Guardians approached on their horses, their blue robes flowing in the wind. They didn't look at Jin with fear, but with a deep, silent respect.

"The desert has accepted your claim, Jin," Yassine said, dismounting and bowing his head. "You didn't just fight for yourself; you fought for the sanctity of the Source. No foreigner has ever stood against the Global Association on our soil and won so decisively."

Jin looked at his two blades. The 'Atlas Kummiya' was pulsing with a warm, inviting light. He turned to the gathered Moroccan hunters and raised the white blade high.

"The Association uses the System to control you," Jin's voice resonated across the dunes, amplified by the Monolith's energy. "They give you 'Mana' but they take your freedom. They treat your skills like rented tools. No more."

Jin struck the ground with the Atlas Blade. A wave of white, purifying mana spread across the sand, reaching every Moroccan hunter.

The hunters gasped as the red 'System' icons above their heads turned into a solid, unchanging gold. They felt their power becoming their own, independent of the Global servers.

"Today, we form the first Free Guild," Jin announced. "The 'Atlas Renegades'. Our mission is not to hunt monsters for profit, but to protect the world's Source and find the truth the Association tried to delete."

Mi-na walked up to Jin, her eyes still shimmering with the data of the Monolith. She reached out and touched his arm, her expression turning serious. "Jin, the Monolith just gave me a new frequency. The 'Defragmenter' you killed in Seoul was just a scout. The Admin is sending the 'Four Architects'—the strongest hunters in the world. And they are heading to the highest point in this land."

"Toubkal," Idir muttered, his amber eyes narrowing as he looked toward the distant silhouettes of the High Atlas Mountains. "The Source in Merzouga is the heart, but the Source in Mount Toubkal is the brain. If they seize it, they can 'Reboot' the entire continent and erase us all."

Jin looked toward the mountains. The journey was far from over. He had found allies, he had found his power, and now, he had a home to defend.

"Then we move at dawn," Jin said, his level 45 aura stabilizing into a calm, terrifying pressure. "We're going to the top of the world."
