DASH
I exhaled sharply, pushing hard against the restraints, eyes locked on the man who had contributed to my existence.
The bastard I would erase from existence if I had the power.
"You'll kill me?" he said.
"Touch her," I challenged.
He tossed his head back and let out a burst of laughter. The sound echoed off the cell walls, grating on my last nerve.
When it finally died down, he snapped his fingers. A prison guard immediately appeared. The door opened. I swallowed hard as my father strode inside and stopped directly in front of me.
His aura flooded the room, heavy and suffocating. I refused to submit. I fought it with everything I had.
My jaw tightened as I caught that familiar mischievous, cruel twinkle in his eyes.
"You'll kill me," he repeated, no longer asking. "When did you become so fearless? When did you start talking back to your father?"
