Elena dropped the printed document on the glass table. The paper slid across the surface. It stopped against his folder. She didn't sit. She kept her hands flat on the edge.
"You signed it," she said. "Voting rights transfer. Effective immediately. Parent entity: Thomas Sterling. Majority control shifts to the family trust."
Alexander didn't look away. He didn't reach for it. He kept his posture straight. "I signed it."
"Why."
"Because he asked me to sign it. Because he needed it on file to trigger the board override. Because if I refused, he would have forged my name anyway. I gave him exactly what he expected."
"You gave him my company."
"I gave him a trap."
He opened the locked drawer beneath the table. Pulled out a black binder. Dropped it next to her document. Opened it to a tab marked Routing Agreement Secondary. Slid a single sheet across the glass.
"Read the compliance footer," he said.
