The vault door stood open. Steel shelves held binders, stamped files, and microfilm reels. Elena pulled the top binder. Flipped it open. Patent assignments. Routing schematics. Maintenance hold logs. Thomas's signature on every delay. Alexander's approval stamp on every bypass. She closed the binder. Dropped it on the concrete floor. Dust rose. She turned to him.

"You used the marriage to block the merger. You used the vault to hide the patent. You let the rack fall to force the inspection. You did not protect me. You managed the timeline."

Alexander stood near the scanning terminal. He did not pick up the binder. He checked the terminal screen. Registry logs loaded. Vault access cleared. He turned. "I managed the risk."

"You managed me," she said. "You filtered the maintenance queue. You held the structural review. You knew the beam stress peaked. You let it buckle. You used the collapse to open a federal window. You used my floor as a pressure test."
