--------------------------------------------------
Because she had to control and bind Shukaku, Kushina couldn't move freely. This put her in an incredibly dangerous position.
Even with a large number of Konoha ninja protecting her, the Sand forces kept surging forward in an endless wave. Her defensive perimeter was wearing thin.
Right now, Konoha desperately needed some heavy firepower!
"Time to clear the field, Sand shinobi."
Wreathed in blinding lightning and gripping his Iron Sand Sword with both hands, Kamishiro charged directly into the thickest cluster of enemies.
He had never had the chance to unleash such a highly destructive technique before. After all, there was never anyone in Konoha who warranted this level of lethality.
So, everyone bore witness to the terrifying power of the Iron Sand Sword for the very first time—Kamishiro included.
His ElectroMaster ability allowed him to manipulate electromagnetic forces. It was just like a certain highly-respected middle schooler who could make everyone bow down and call her "Boss."
He gathered all the iron sand from the soil within a two-hundred-meter radius. Using electromagnetism, he bent the metallic dust entirely to his will.
Formed purely from electromagnetic force, the Iron Sand "Sword" was actually more like a slithering whip. It hummed with a deafening buzz, like the fluttering of a bee's wings amplified hundreds of times over.
The Iron Sand whip could freely extend dozens of meters into the air, instantly expanding Kamishiro's attack range.
Do not underestimate a range of several dozen meters. For a ninja, a ten-meter gap was already considered a considerable combat distance.
Driven by electromagnetic energy, the massive volume of iron sand vibrated violently. Wielding this sword was like swinging a high-speed, electric chainsaw!
If it touched an arm, the arm was gone. If it touched a leg, the leg was severed. If it touched a neck, the head rolled.
Conventional defenses were completely useless. One Sand ninja tried to block the whip with his long sword.
However, the molecular-level vibrations made the Iron Sand Sword ten thousand times sharper than any legendary blade. Slicing through solid metal was no different than cutting through flesh and bone.
The single eye Kamishiro had exposed through his broken mask revealed nothing—it was impossible to tell if his gaze was cold or simply calm.
In the dark of the night, his white hair stood on end from the static charge. Covered in a white mask and radiating lightning, his appearance struck profound terror into both ally and enemy alike!
Wherever he stepped, severed limbs flew into the air.
Whatever path he carved was left painted in blood and mangled flesh.
The Sand's overwhelming momentum slammed into a brick wall.
Though the fighting styles were different, this one-sided slaughter reminded them of a Konoha ghost they never wanted to remember.
It was the eternal nightmare of the Sand: The White Fang of the Leaf, Sakumo Hatake.
He, too, used to charge alone into the Sand's ranks with a single blade, moving as if walking through an empty field. Sakumo was dead—a self-inflicted loss for Konoha.
But looking at the boy tonight, had Konoha just birthed a new set of fangs?
Of course, Kamishiro was different from the White Fang. No matter the opponent's rank, Sakumo could generally end them with a single strike.
Kamishiro was different. His area-of-effect lethality against cannon fodder was actually much higher than the White Fang's. However, using this AoE technique made it difficult for him to secure one-hit kills against skilled Jonin.
There were simply too many enemies.
This was a chaotic battlefield where Konoha was severely outnumbered. Statistically speaking, no matter how sharp Kamishiro's attacks were, an enemy would eventually slip into his guard.
Yet, he focused entirely on slaughtering the distant enemies, seemingly abandoning his own defense.
This was a fatal illusion for his foes. Right now, Kamishiro was in a state of absolute electrical discharge. He didn't have to hold back for fear of friendly fire.
Any enemy who breached within three meters of his body suffered extreme discomfort from the ambient electric currents.
At two meters, the high voltage was enough to induce a coma.
Step within one meter, and an ordinary ninja would meet a gruesome end. Flesh simply carbonized.
Kamishiro couldn't even calculate how many enemies he had killed. But absolutely no one could stop his advance.
With Kamishiro acting as the vanguard spearhead, the ninja defending Kushina launched a fierce counterattack. Under this desperate assault, the Sand forces actually began to fall back.
Soon, a vacuum free of Sand ninja formed around Shukaku's feet.
Having cleared the immediate vicinity, Kamishiro didn't push any further outward. Before the next wave of Sand ninja could rush in, he retreated back to Kushina's side.
Right before falling back, he retracted his whip-like Iron Sand Sword, molded it into the shape of a massive spear, and hurled it with all his might into the densest cluster of Sand troops!
Mid-flight, the spear shattered into a sky full of black iron senbon, unleashing a secondary storm of slaughter!
Returning to Kushina, he temporarily deactivated his electrical discharge. By now, not just his broken mask, but all his exposed skin was dyed a deep crimson.
Kushina, meanwhile, looked utterly dumbfounded. She knew exactly what the Chidori Stream was.
But this so-called "Chidori Stream: Phase Two" was a completely different beast! Putting aside the sheer destructive power, why the hell couldn't she sense a single ripple of chakra from such a massive jutsu?!
However, Kamishiro didn't have the time to explain the intricacies of his powers to her.
"Kushina-sensei, can't you use a sealing jutsu or something to take care of this big guy?!" he shouted, pointing at Shukaku.
Though it hadn't been heavily described, Shukaku had been roaring continuously throughout Kamishiro's rampage. Kushina had bound its body, but she couldn't shut its mouth.
"How could I?! Just suppressing it is taking everything I have!" Kushina snapped back immediately.
Truth be told, the situation was even worse than it looked. Because of Shukaku's presence, the Nine-Tails inside her was getting incredibly restless.
Kushina wasn't just suppressing Shukaku—she had to split her focus to keep Kurama contained!
She wasn't a perfect Jinchuriki like the Eight-Tails vessel. She merely relied on her Uzumaki chakra to forcefully suppress the Nine-Tails.
Now that her chakra reserves had dropped below the critical warning line, the Nine-Tails was naturally starting to act up.
It wanted to come out for a breath of fresh air, too.
-------------------------------------------------
Was it ever revealed what mission led to Sakumo Hatake's death? Due to which he was shamed throughout the entire village?
