Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Mito

Isamu looked up at Danzo but didn't say a word.

He just stared at him—calm, unmoving.

That silence only made Danzo more smug.

"Heh… Uchiha Isamu," Danzo sneered. "I told you a long time ago—don't ever fall into my hands. Otherwise, I'd make you regret it."

He stepped closer, clearly enjoying himself.

"And look at you now. Didn't you walk right into it?"

Isamu still didn't respond.

Danzo's smile widened.

"You're still hoping Hiruzen will save you, aren't you?" he continued mockingly. "Give up. The council will never let you go."

"We've already decided—you'll be handed over to the Land of Earth."

"They'll take their time with you."

He kept going.

And going.

And going.

Finally—

"Are you done yet?" Isamu cut in flatly.

Danzo burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! You're a prisoner now, yet you are still acting proud"

He turned toward the guard.

"I didn't come here just to talk. Open the cell."

The guard hesitated.

"L-Lord Danzo… we can't open it without the Hokage's permission…"

Danzo's expression darkened instantly.

"I'm an elder. If I say open it—you open it."

His voice dropped, threatening.

"Or do you want to deal with the consequences?"

The guard stiffened.

"…Alright. Just this once."

Reluctantly, he unlocked the door.

Danzo stepped inside, looking Isamu up and down with clear disdain.

"Weren't you arrogant before?" he sneered. "Go on—show me that arrogance now."

"Look at you. Pathetic."

He even spat on the ground.

"Just seeing you makes me sick."

That was the last straw.

"…You've said enough."

A cold voice echoed.

Crack.

The chains binding Isamu shattered instantly.

Before Danzo could even react—

Smack!

A single slap.

Danzo was sent flying like a ragdoll, spinning through the air before crashing into the cell door.

Boom!

The door burst open on impact.

Danzo dropped to the ground—

Unconscious.

The guard stood there, completely frozen.

"…Tch."

Isamu spat lightly.

"Trash like you thinks you can humiliate me?"

"Didn't I tell you before? Every time I see you—I'll beat you."

"You thought I was joking?"

He glanced at the broken cell.

"…This one's ruined."

Then, as if nothing had happened—

"I'll take the one next door."

He casually walked into the adjacent cell and lay down.

The guard: completely stunned.

"What are you staring at?" Isamu said lazily. "Close the door. Or I might actually leave."

"Ah—yes!"

The guard snapped back to his senses, hurried over, and shut the door.

Then he picked up the unconscious Danzo and rushed out.

"…What kind of prisoner is this…" he muttered. "Been doing this for years—I've never seen anyone break out… just to lock themselves up again."

"Total weirdo…"

Meanwhile—

Hiruzen Sarutobi was in his office, speaking with the Uchiha Great Elder.

"Hiruzen Sarutobi," the elder said coldly, "for the sake of the village, Isamu even distanced himself from the clan."

"He left the Uchiha district. Took on missions without complaint. Contributed everything he could."

"And now this is how you treat him?"

There was no respect left in his tone.

Hiruzen sighed.

"I know everything he's done. I haven't ignored it."

"But this time… he went too far."

"Locking him up is already the lightest punishment I could give."

"Please understand my position."

The elder scoffed.

"He attacked Iwagakure. So what?"

"That place isn't exactly innocent either."

"If anything, this was a warning to them."

"I see nothing wrong with what he did."

Hiruzen shook his head.

"If this had happened during wartime, he'd be a hero."

"But this is a time of peace. What he did—"

The door suddenly opened.

"—What exactly?"

A calm but firm voice interrupted him.

"Go on, Monkey. Finish what you were saying."

Hiruzen froze.

"…Lady Mito."

Standing at the door were Uzumaki Mito and Tsunade.

Mito hadn't planned to interfere in village matters.

But Tsunade had insisted.

And more importantly—

She could see it clearly.

Her granddaughter had already fallen for Isamu.

For Tsunade's sake… she decided to step in.

"Please, have a seat," Hiruzen said quickly, standing up.

Mito sat down calmly and gave a small nod to the Uchiha elder.

"Explain it properly," she said. "Tsunade didn't make it very clear."

Hiruzen nodded and went through everything from beginning to end.

When he finished—

Mito spoke without hesitation.

"Then just compensate the Land of Earth."

"Why make things so complicated?"

Hiruzen smiled bitterly.

"That was my plan too."

"But the council keeps opposing it."

"They insist on handing Isamu over."

"I'm stuck in the middle."

Mito's expression hardened.

"Monkey."

"You're the Hokage."

"Not them."

"The council advises. You decide."

She tapped the table lightly.

"This matter is settled. We compensate the Land of Earth."

"If the council has a problem with it, they can come talk to me."

Her tone left no room for argument.

"I'd like to see whether you're the Hokage… or they are."

Hiruzen hesitated—then nodded.

"…Understood."

With Mito stepping in, things became much simpler.

No one in Konoha could ignore her authority.

"What about Isamu?" Hiruzen asked. "Should we release him?"

The Uchiha elder also looked over.

Mito thought for a moment.

"That boy…"

"His strength has grown too quickly."

"To challenge the Land of Earth alone—reckless."

She shook her head slightly.

"That kind of behavior needs to be corrected."

"Keep him locked up for now."

"Let him reflect before releasing him."

"Grandma!" Tsunade immediately grabbed her arm, pouting. "Just let him out already!"
