As soon as she arrived below the Hokage Building, Tsunade heard people talking.
"I never expected Uchiha Isamu to actually defect from the Village. It's unbelievable."
"Exactly. I thought he was different from the other arrogant Uchiha. Who would've guessed he'd be the most rebellious one?"
"What? Isamu defected?!"
Tsunade froze.
She had initially been curious about what they were discussing—but she never expected this.
"That's impossible!"
Recalling the strange behavior of the Great Elder and the others, a sense of dread rose in her chest. Without hesitation, she rushed straight into the Hokage Building.
Bang!
The office door was blasted open with a single punch.
"Old man Hiruzen! What is going on?! How could Isamu have defected?!"
Inside, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzo, and the other high-ranking officials all turned to look at her in shock.
"Tsunade… you didn't leave with Uchiha Isamu?" Hiruzen asked, stunned.
"Are you sick, old man?! Konoha is my home—why would I leave?!" Tsunade snapped. "And what is this nonsense about Isamu defecting? Who's spreading these lies?!"
"Did… Isamu not tell you?" Hiruzen frowned slightly.
"Tell me what? Stop dodging the question! Who's spreading these rumors? Was it you, Danzo?!"
"Tsunade, watch your words," Danzo said coldly. "This order came from Hiruzen. And it's not a rumor—he truly defected."
"Bullshit!"
Tsunade's eyes burned with anger.
"Just because Isamu isn't here, you're smearing his name! When I visited the Great Elder yesterday, they were all still there—but now they're gone!"
She clenched her fists.
"You must've captured them. Release them immediately, or Isamu and I won't let this go!"
From beginning to end, Tsunade refused to believe it.
To her, this wasn't defection—it was a scheme.
She trusted Isamu completely.
Anyone else might betray the village—
but not him.
Seeing her like this, Danzo's patience snapped.
"Tsunade, what exactly are you doing? Causing a scene here? Uchiha Isamu defected with his clan—what does that have to do with us?"
He narrowed his eyes.
"As the wife of a rogue ninja, it's already lenient that we haven't arrested you. Don't push your luck."
"Danzo!"
Hiruzen immediately cut him off.
He turned to Tsunade, his expression serious.
"Tsunade… I'm telling you the truth. Isamu has defected, along with his clan. This is not a joke."
"Old man… why are you saying this too…" Tsunade's voice trembled slightly.
"You know him. You know his character. He would never do something like this…"
"I'm not lying," Hiruzen said quietly. "Yesterday, he used a powerful Genjutsu on me. I still haven't recovered."
He looked at her steadily.
"As Hokage, I would never joke about something like this."
"…Lies."
Tsunade shook her head, her voice breaking.
"You're all lying… I don't believe you… Isamu wouldn't do this… he wouldn't…"
Suddenly, she turned and ran.
"I'm going to find Grandma Mito! I'll report all of you!"

After she left, Danzo spoke coldly.
"Hiruzen, we can't ignore this. She needs to be monitored. We might even use her to lure Isamu out… or capture her as leverage."
Hiruzen fell silent.
Given Tsunade's identity, arresting her was impossible.
But ignoring the situation wasn't an option either.
"Hiruzen," Homura Mitokado said, "we cannot arrest her—but we must monitor her."
Utatane Koharu nodded. "We can't make exceptions just because of her status."
Danzo added, "This is not the time to hesitate."
"…Fine," Hiruzen said at last. "Send people to monitor her in secret."

Meanwhile, Tsunade arrived at Uzumaki Mito's residence.
"Grandma! Grandma! Grandma Mito!"
Hearing her voice, Uzumaki Mito stepped outside.
"Tsunade? What's wrong?"
"Grandma, come with me! The village is labeling Isamu as a rogue ninja—you have to stop them! Tell them he would never defect!"
Mito sighed softly.
"Tsunade… there's no need. Hiruzen has already informed me."
"Tian—Isamu… did leave with the clan."
"Grandma, not you too!"
Tsunade's emotions surged.
"How could he leave? This is his home! He would never abandon it—never!"
Mito gently placed a hand on her head.
"Perhaps… he has his reasons. You need to trust him."
"No…"
Tsunade shook her head repeatedly.
"He's too strong… nothing could force him into this… he wouldn't just leave me behind…"
Her voice weakened.
"He wouldn't… it's impossible… he wouldn't…"
Before she could finish—
her body went limp.
Mito caught her as she collapsed.
Looking down at Tsunade in her arms, Mito's expression turned complicated.
"…That foolish boy…"
She carried Tsunade inside and laid her on the bed.
"The only thing I can do now… is take care of her for you."
Mito gently brushed Tsunade's hair aside.
"Isamu… whatever you're planning… don't fail her."
